Instructions

Instructions were awful, tells you to turn 1/4 clockwise to lock it. But doesn't tell you that you needed to turn the inner shaft (red part). Also the markings on the pump head is incorrect, the arrow points clockwise to "unlock" when it's the opposite, lol. Simple stuff like this is what irritates me. But it pumps ok, just takes long.

Strength:

fast inflation. 2 stage thing. attachment to frame is good.

Weakness:

directions (about locking)poor. hard to push against your hand(no hose).

Good, not great. The directions don't explain what part of pump to twist to lock the head to the valve,(its the red inner part). Until I figured it out I thought the product was awful. Love the high/low switch- start on low to quickly fill until it gets tough, finish it on high. I like the holder, works well. Made in Taiwan. It takes a lot of arm strength to use because without a hose, you can't use the ground for leverage.

Strength:

Inflates tires reasonably fast when it works.

Weakness:

Expensive. Seals gave up the ghost after 3 months, the pump became really hard to operate; locking the head is finicky, could damage presta valves if not used carefully. No response from Blackburn customer service (?).

This pump works reasonably when it works, but mine gave up the ghost after less then 3 months, and I had used it less than a handful of times! Contacted BB CS but received no reply. Besides these annoyances, the head locking system and the direct attachment to the valve make this expensive pump a subpar product. Save your hard earned cash for a Topeak Mountain Morph, mini morph or a Lezyne micro floor drive, vastly superior products!

Strength:

durable aluminum, rebuildable parts, 2 settings for low/high pressure for ease of pumping.

Weakness:

blackburns provided instructions are a little vague as to how to get the pump locked onto the stem.
pricey, a little bulky but that allows for a good grip.
blackburn should've put a rubber grip or knurling on the body since this pump doesn't have a handle.

although i've had the pump for not even a day i'm pretty impressed with it. i initially had trouble getting the pump locked on the stem. i soon realized you have to fully extend the pump with the head on the valve and twist the red inner tube clockwise. the build quality appears to be really good. this pump seems like a great choice for mtb riders.

Light weight, fast fill ups, compact....

Had the Blackburn Mountain Air model, and it worked fairly well. Bought this one cause the price was good. Wow what a difference! This pump fills tires alot faster than my mountain air ever did. They were about the same size, this one was a bit smaller with a bit bigger cylinder. Great pump overall!

Strength:

Weight, easy to use, flip switch on base of the handle.Looks cool with black and red.

Weakness:

$30.00. A friend of mine has a Specialized pump that work almost as well with out being a 2 stage, and it cost him $20.00.

I was looking for a pump other than Co2 'couse I have issues remembering to buy cartriges. An after dealing with a few flats at a local trail I need something that could inflate my tires fast, to get me away from the mosquitos. This is it! it does work AWESOME.... looks cool and the black makes it inconspicous on my black frame.I would have been more pleased if it was at the $20 or even $25 price tag.But then, the rebuild-ability of it ... I know I'll have it for years.
