VERY STRONG!... KICKS THE CRAP OUT OF THOSE FLIMSY "T.H.E." FENDERS!...RIDE THROUGH ROUGH RAIN AND YOUR BUTT AND BACK STAYS DRY!

A BIT BULKY & HEAVY...THE ASSORTED COLORS/ARTWORK FOR THEM(WHICH ARE JUST STICKERS...THE UNIT IS BLACK)ARE REALLY BAD. A BIT PRICEY...

I AM HAPPY OVERALL...I HAVE THE REAR FENDER( WHICH MOUNTS ON LIKE A BRAKE BOOSTER)...IT WORKS GREAT...I USE IT EVERYDAY TO COMMUTE TO WORK IN ALL WHEATHER CONDITIONS...I EVEN USE MICHELIN HOT S TIRES, WHICH SPASH UP A TON OF WATER & MUD UP ON YOUR BACK LIKE A FOUNTAIN...AND MY BUTT & BACK STAY DRY WITH THE MUD MACHINE...IT SUCKED WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE MY BRAKE PADS OUT THE OTHER DAY...HAD TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE FENDER IN ORDER TO CHANGE THEM...I NOTICED SOME LIGHT RUST SPOTS ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER MOUNT, BUT THEY CAME OFF WITH A RAG & SOME ELBOW GREASE...VERY RIGID,STRONG FENDERS...MAYBE A LITTLE TOO HEAVY?...THE ARTWORK/COLOR STICKERS ARE A BIT CHEESEY...AND $60 FOR A FENDER?...

Beautiful Design, awesome logo, impecable customer service (they'll do ANYTHING to make you happy).

The length for my particular frame is not enough, but helps to keep road grime on the road. My butt still gets wet , but with the front fender they offer, the entire front of my body is dry. Perhaps with your frame bike, it might work better. They tell me that they are redesigning the rear fender for bikes like mine

BUY THESE FENDERS

Buy the fenders from the website (I would email the people about your order rather than going through the automated setup). Ask them about the fenders and tell them what you want. They are very helpful and fast in response. This is the best company I have ever encountered for product effectiveness and support. The Front Fender is unbelievable! The rear fender could use some length...but the design is rugged, the logo is cool, and these things were BUILT TO LAST! If you brake them, you just send them 5 bucks for a new one!

First, I would like to say that I never tried to contact Mudmachine for support. I sort of didn't have time before my trip home from NJ to Belize. Well, the streets can get pretty muddy here so I knew I wanted to get fenders to keep me clean. My bike is basically my vehicle here on the island. I have both the front free ride and rear fenders. I know this review is for the rear fender, but I am going to put the total experience here, and copy it to the free ride review as well.

Ok, the real deal is that the metal bracket for the front fender did not fit in the groove on the bottom of my fork properly, but it was pretty close. I happened to have a grinder nearby so I just made the proper adjustments. The metal bracket is very sturdy so the small amount of bending and cutting I had to do was no problem. The starnut and everything thing else installation-wise went beautifully.

I can do trials stuff so I immediately took the bike to the street and started hammering it as hard as I could. These fenders are pretty solid and only made slight noise even on the hardest drop offs. No noise with regular riding. I have ridden them over some trails to see if they would change my mind, but they didn't have any problem there.

Trials skills make XC easy. I can't tell you how they do in a crash as I don't really fall too often anymore.

Ok, the bad news for me is that I absolutely need the rear fender to keep me clean here in Belize. I took a ride only one block (about 400 meters) and didn't even go that fast and when I got off to look, I had some mud speckles on my butt and a few on my shirt near the lower end. Higher up on my back was clean. I think this fender needs to be at least 2 inches longer to prevent the splatter further. Maybe there would have been more mud if I didn't have the fender. I can tell that if it is raining out I will get a wet ass. I don't want to go everywhere with mud on my ass either. I think the fender is great, but it is not getting my primary need done properly. I am giving it a 2 because I was really looking to stay clean when I go out around here.
