Weaknesses:doesn`t hold its shape, bends easy. heavy

Bottom Line:I weigh 215 lbs and the seat bent after a couple of months of XC use. comfort is average. After an hour or two in the saddle your ready to give your back side a break. Not the lightest, but for the price you can`t really expect it. i`m in the process of selecting a new seat.

Bottom Line:My 240lb behind broke the dang thing within two weeks (around 400 miles of equal amounts of fire roads, paved and singletrack). No really big hits, just a few minor crashes that did not impact the seat nor the post. Just not built for someone a little larger than normal. It was pretty comfortable while it lasted...

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Comfortable, even on long rides. Cheap, goodlooking, durable.
Weaknesses:Heavy(but only compared to high end minimalist saddles, probably lighter than some stock saddles) Saddle can be too wide/have too much padding for some (not for me). Shape sometimes snags shorts when out of saddle.
Similar Products Used:CODA stock saddle, Bontrager saddles, other WTB speed V/Laser saddles, Selle Italia Flite, Selle Italia SLR XP
Bike Setup:Trek fuel 100, Fox vanilla 100, American Classic 26 mtb, XTR/XT drivetrain
Bottom Line:I just switched to a Selle Italia SLR after using this WTB saddle for a year. I did this not because the saddle is not comfortable, but just because I use the bike for xc races and it is a little heavy/can snag shorts when moving around (minimal risk). However, I moved the saddle to my road bike because it is so comfortable and still in perfect shape. If you are a recreational rider, racer that doesnt care about weight (if they exist!), or need a saddle for your training bike, get this saddle!Cant go wrong for the price, much better than any stock saddle and one of the most comfy of the saddles I have tried

Strengths:Comfortable, Durable, the cutout is actually called the "Love Channel"
Weaknesses:Heavy
Similar Products Used:Fizik, Specialized, Selle Italia, Selle San Marco
Bike Setup:'96 Rockhopper frame, '04 Marzocchi Fork and full '04 LX
Bottom Line:It's really comfortable and durable, like all WTB saddles. Being their "bottom of the line" saddle, it's a bit heavy for XC racing. Mine is starting to show signs of use after three years, so I'll probably replace it with another lighter WTB saddle.

Also, the cutout is called the "Love Channel". Seriously. How can one not buy a saddle that has a "Love Channel"?

Strengths:hasn't fallen apart yet, it's a saddle
Weaknesses:very painfull after about 200 yards of seated climbing
Similar Products Used:wtb pure v, lazer v, some old specialized saddle (i loved it)
Bike Setup:Iron Horse Warrior Pro... fox vannilla suspension, nevegal tires, hone crank, 80 mm stem, answer alumilite handlebars
Bottom Line:I have a '05 bike so I guess I have the '05 saddle and it sucks. After about 100 yards it starts to hurt really bad and I have to get off the damn thing after a while and rest my backside. I read somewhere that a painfull saddle can contribute to erectile disfunction so it worries me. I did like the pure v though... it kinda delayed the hurt util about a mile into a climb, but it was better. I don't know why this saddle has an overall rating of more than four, but maybee it's because I have a weird butt, or maybe the new one's better, but mine is terrible.

Bottom Line:Basically, I am a Clyde. I am over 6' tall and about 250 lbs. Previous seats would kill my arse after a 3-4 hour ride but now with this seat, I feel like I can go on and on. Only drawback is the extreme amount of creaking and groaning coming from the seat...but I blame that on my weight, not the seat. Would have gotten a 5 chilis if it didn't creak under my weight, but no one is perfect.

Bottom Line:This is a nice seat for the price. My old seat had a nasty habit of grabbing my bike shorts and ripping them. This one doesn't. Bottom Line:This saddle is an excellent bang for the buck. $27 from beyond bikes - some say it's a little wide for decents, but i'm 6'1 and have no problem sliding back. The seat weight isn't much different from the stock flimsy Bontrager that came on the Trek 4900 so no complains here. Strengths:Great price on the saddle, works wonders on the behind, fits well, strong.
Weaknesses:A little hard to get behind, just have to have it angled right, and not to high up.
Similar Products Used:Stock Cannondale Saddle, Good Saddle
Bike Setup:XC/Trail Riding, with some racing.
Bottom Line:This is a great saddle for the price and it gets the job done. I have had no numbness from it and it is quite comfortable for short and long rides. I am a light rider, weighing in at 120lb, so I have no problem with bending rails or breaking anything of that sort. I do not think this saddle should be used for DH, you should get a DH specific seat for that. I do some XC racing and just trail riding and the seat is awesome!

Strengths:Very Comfortable, very cheap
Weaknesses:bit hard to get behind on descents
Similar Products Used:Specialized BG Sport
Bike Setup:Specialized Hardrock with everything that moves upgraded.
Bottom Line:I snapped a rail on my 11 month old BG saddle, I was prepared to pay about $100 for a nice replacement saddle. the LBS had sold out of most of the stuff I was thinking about (SDG Bel Air, Specialized Avanti) then he pulled the WTB Speed V out of the bargain bin. At half of what I was originally thinking I thought I'd take a chance & I think what most people are saying here is correct.

A good value seat that is super comfortable on long rides, however I have to say I've noticed the same weirdness on getting behind the saddle but tinkering with the angle might help that as well. & my riding style could probably be enhanced as well to help this.

Overall a great buy & a great saddle. I'm pretty sure in time my ass is going to be very happy I bought this.

Strengths:Fit my butt well. Came with the bike.
Weaknesses:Some numbness on longer rides. Bent the seat bad going down a trail. Annoyed that the seat broke so easily.
Similar Products Used:BG2 Sport
Bike Setup:Ironhorse Sinister Comp 2005, all stock, except the seat since I bent it. Seat is a BG2 Sport, haven't ridden it much yet to tell if it is good or not.
Bottom Line:The seat came stock with my bike and seemed ok from the start. I've only had my bike for about 2 weeks now. Did a longer ride (4 hours) and I was starting to feel some pain down there that I didn't feel on shorter rides (1 hour). Then I went to a large dirt bowl and was riding up and down the sides. Coming down one side, I was sitting kinda far back (duh, like normal when going down a hill) and when I hit the bottom of the bowl the seat just bent under the pressure. And I'm not a fat ass, only 185 lbs, and it wasn't a rough ride down at all, so I was pretty pissed. But the bike shop guy said most seats are similar in strength, so I must have just put enough leverage on the thing from sitting back so far. Guess I'll have to get a steel bar for a seat once I start hitting some serious downhill.

Strengths:Very comfortable!!! I just switched from a Specialized Body Geometry (like riding on a piece of rock), and I cannot believe the difference it made in my ride. If you are riding a hardtail, the Cro-Molly rails have just enough flex to help absorb some of rough stuff. The good thing about this saddle is with my other one, I was getting numb into about 2 miles, not this time. I felt none of the effects, even after a bumby 9 mile ride! If you are looking for a comfy saddle without breaking the bank, this is definately the way to go!
Weaknesses:None so far...don't think I will find any in terms of what really matters for a saddle, comfort.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Body Geometry, Some cheap Trek seat I got from a grab basket
Bike Setup:A bike with fun stuff on it...
Bottom Line:Great saddle and would recomend it to someone who is 3'2" at 43 lbs, to someone who is 6'8" at 300 lbs.

Strengths:Comfort. Saddle doesn't split you in half and leaves your tackle in perfect working order.
Weaknesses:Needs side scuff pannels made of kevlar though this is not a real complaint given the low price
Similar Products Used:Had a number of saddles Serfas, GT, Bontrager, Kona, etc.
Bike Setup:Fisher Sugar 4 plus complete Deore drivetrain, Julie front disc, Salsa seatpost clamp 2.3" front and 2.1" rear tires. A real uphill and down dale weekend trail bike.
Bottom Line:Only comfortable saddles for any real time in the saddle say 2 to 6 hours, have been the Laser V for my Sugar and the Brooks B66 for my tandem. If your a weekend warrior comfort weeny and accept the tradeoff of a bit of weight for lots of comfort, these saddles are for you. The Laser V is outstanding for the price because after giving it a solid thrashing, you won't cry when its time to fork out a few bucks to buy a new one.

Strengths:-OMG, is this thing ever comfortable!
- reasonable price (50.00 Cdn)
Weaknesses:- developed a few small rips pretty easily - fixed quite easily with a bit of crazy glue
Similar Products Used:- SDG Bel Air (can you say 'brick'?)
- tested a few of the Specialized Body Geometry saddles - wasn't impressed
Bike Setup:used on both an urban HT and a heavy duty FS rig
Bottom Line:This saddle is awesome! It has made a hardtail enjoyable to ride, even during the winter with harsh riding studded tires.

Saddles are pretty subjective, comfort wise, so see if the bike shop you deal with will let you try it for a short while. Chances are pretty good that you'll keep it.

Bottom Line:Been riding on a $90 Fizik Nicene saddle for the last year and just picked this up after getting disgusted with the amount of creaking coming from the Nicene. This saddle blows it away. Sure its a bit heavier but it feels like I just added another 1/2" of travel to my bike. Compliments the Sugars limited (2.5") travel very nicely. My back (tailbone) doesn't seem to ache as much after loooong rides any more too. Hopefully the cromo rails will hold up to the test of time as this was the reason I went to the TI rails of the Fizik. The older SST saddle rails would bend after a couple of months. So far NO complaints. Ride on WTB!!

Weaknesses:bulky, heavier than snot
Similar Products Used:laser V, SDG ti comp, Ritchey comp, Bontrager
Bike Setup:01 Truth
Bottom Line:I liked the Speed V saddle, and didn't want to be a snob about having a $100 ti saddle, but I couldn't take it and switched to the Laser V.

I was concerned that the smaller thinner lighter Laser V would be less cushy and comfortable, and all I would be doing was saving a few grams which don't really matter. Not so!!! The Laser V is a way better saddle, and can be picked up at places like BeyondBikes for $70.

The Laser V is much more comfortable and rideable (less bulk really helps), the nose actually is less padded but ends up being better/more comfortable on the climbs (this is the opposite of what I predicted!!).

The Laser V is so much lighter, and the ti-rails are less bouncy/less prone to pogo, and do a better job of absorbing shock/vibrations.

I'm glad I had the chance to trial a WTB saddle. Like 'em. The Speed V is a good start, but the Laser V is really recommended after having ridden both IMO, and its sooo much lighter!!

It came on my CuSS, and at first look I thought I'd have to throw it away - big ol' cushy lookin seat. But first ride I loved it instantly. Screw looks, my butt wanted happy. Replaced a superlight ti-railed WTB SST ($20 LBS takeoff) with a SpeedV on the GT. Can't see spending $50 more for the LaserV even though its 1/3 lb lighter. I go through a seats or two a year, so I tend to avoid spending big $ on them. Haven't tried any other big-brand-fancy "selle italia" gel stuff, so take my review with a grain of salt, and call yer LBS in the morning to order you one. Gram counters may look elsewhere w/ the LaserV.

It has form-fit feel. The groove in back, if you decide to ride naked, makes a good escape channel for your ball-sweat. I can't believe I am the first person reviewing this saddle.
If you want an all around seat that feels like a Sunday morning where ever you go, this is your seat.
