Sidewall is abrasion resistant. Very confortable even after 4 hours of riding. 'Love Channel' Soft nose. Acts like a suspension. Doesn't stay moist.

Weight ? Actually if there are heavier saddles that are less confortable, then it could be considered light!
Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
You can't expect anything else from a saddle. The nose tip is confortable and wide enough to acomodate your weight on those long climbs, yet it is narrow enough to not rub in your tighs when you are seated on it's back. That is a perfect balance hard to find on many saddles. The frame is made of a very confortable material that deforms as an actual 'suspension', it is not like those saddles that are very smooth when you clench your fist but when you seat on them it will bottom out pretty easy with your weight, losing this capability to absorb impacts. There is a fabric on it's sidewall that is abrasion resistant, right where it most demands. The center groove relieves pressure under your vital parts, I feel confortable even on those last few minutes when I'm almost back home after a long ride. I consider it the best money can buy. Unless you're a weight weenie that scales your bike more often than you ride it, this saddle may be the perfect choice.

Lightweight, WTB has a plethora of styles to choose from - any type rider can be happy. Kevlar sides, titanium rails sloped nose and good looks make this a great ass cushion.
Weaknesses:
MSRP is a bit hard to swallow (120 duckets for the Ti rail model) but ebay has some for a good price.

Bottom Line:
I was getting some burning pain in my right glut and nut (Pudendal nerve entrapment / compression)I figured it was time to replace the seat. After reading a lot of reviews I picked the Laser V Stealth Ti as best suited for my riding (XC and trying to hammer up hills as fast as possible - not a DH bomber) Let me tell you, this seat is a little bit o' heaven. From the very first ride the difference was profound and I no longer felt the burning nut pain. Great support in just the right places and it encourages seated steep uphill climbs. I'm 5'10" and 173 lbs and I can tell you this seat is so good I just had to write about it.

I have a hard time tossing this saddle because of how much I paid for it. It was the best saddle I had tried when I bought it, but if I had known how much more comfortable a Brooks B17 would be, I would have returned it after a few rides, as Bike Gallery has a saddle demo/return policy. It's incredibly light, and I keep the saddle as a race only saddle (short races). It's comfortable for a short time in the saddle, but turns into a big burning hotspot after 15 mins in the saddle. It has a way of gripping your butt and not letting go. My Brooks saddles are nice and smooth, and let your butt find it's happy place, this saddle keeps you searching for it. It was an improvement over every other saddle I had tried, but man, do yourself a favor and try a B17 if you're having a hard time finding a comfortable saddle. They've been making saddles for quite a long time, and seem to have really figured things out.

After trying many seats, I read the reviews and found relief at last in the Laser V stealth! I now have it on 2 bikes, with a Rocket V on the steel "trainer" (its ok but the shape is too high at the rear and tends to "push" me forward - frame geometry plays a big part i think). Its well made and I love the tough edges so im not worried at laying it down or wearing it out. The weight is good for such a comfortable saddle, the lighter ones Ive tried seem to have absolutely no padding! I usually go for 1-3hr rides and can stay seated longer. Saddles are personal, I have a small butt, but (ha!) find these my perfect saddle!

This saddle lasted a long time with all-mountain duties and was very comfortable for long periods in the saddle. I like to tilt the nose of the seat up to shift my weight from the center to the back of the saddle: WAAAY less pressure you-know-where, plus it's easier to slide off the back on those steep descents. Mine finally died after 3 years of worthy riding and I am getting another one as a "crash replacement." I think it's cool that WTB will give a bro a smokin' price not really knowing what went down up there on the hill. If you race xc get the carbon fiber ass-hammer you deserve, but if you love all kinds of trails and riding all over the place, get a laser stealth - it's such a sweet saddle.

While it's certianly more comfortable than the stock seat that came on my Stumpy, I personally didn't think it was a $72 improvement. Again, yes it is slightly more comfortable, and the reduced weight alone makes it worthwhile if that's your thing, but I was just expecting it to have a "little" more padding based on all the reviews I've read about it so far.
I would still recommend this without hesitation, but just be aware that some people's idea of 'comfortable' may not match your own :)

This review is for the Laser V Progel. Same saddle as the Stealth, but with some extra gel padding. And man, does that padding make a difference. I've had a Laser V Stealth on my Rift Zone, and I gotta say it left me with a rather tender... "taint" the morning after the longer rides. So when I scooped one up in the mail, I decided to give it a test run around the local trails. What a difference. It's three times comfier than the Stealth, and it's only costing me an extra 75 grams of weight. (Not that I'm a weight weenie, if I was I'd do something about the thousands and thousands of beer-related grams around my waist.) Both saddles get five flamers for value. The Stealth gets three chillis for comfort, and the Progel gets Five. I'd give it six if I could.

I find the ultimate testament to any bike seat is the fact that I never have to think about it during a ride. I have never had any pain, never had any discomfort, even after multiple extended-length rides days in a row. In fact, other than marvelling at the kickass look of the seat, I had almost forgot it was there, almost as if my cheeks were a part of the bike. After a unfortuate rental bike seat left me with a burning pain did I truly realize how awesome this seat is. Its soft and yet not squishy, and grips my butt like crazy. Even with slippery moto pants it manages to keep me comfortably on the bike. I have ridden with chamois, without, and still have never had any pain or even noticed any discomfort. I ride everyday, and will continue to without any interference of saddle soreness, and for me that's 5 chilis all around. This is an A+ saddle, it looks fantastic and performs even better!

HOW STRONG IS THIS SADDLE? well... let's just say my bike was attached to my roof rack (fork mount) and as I drove into a parking structure, the seat hit the wall of the building causing the roof rack to completely snap off the car and slide off. The result, a scratched Honda Civic and no damage to the saddle or the bike, goes to tell you these old GT XCR are not so weak either but that's another review. Anywho... after that experience, I doubt this seat will ever break on me now!

Bottom Line:
The bottom line is that I beleive they changed the padding in this seat from last year. I had the (03) Stealth and it was WAY more comfortable! The seat padding is more stiff in the (04) seat and I can't seem to work it out with the angle adjustments. Hey maybe I need to break it in, I'm not sure. I'm returning it tommorow and getting a speed V which is the same EXACT shape but softer as I understand. The '04 seat doesn't get my best recomendation unfortunately.

Bottom Line:
This seat looks the ducks gutz on the bike, the finish is great, the padding, stitching and general shape is top class. I love the look of it, and the light weight is fantastic, too.
However, saddles are a very personal thing on a bike, and this one, whilst being very good, is not the seat that I expected it to be. After reading all the reviews on MTB about it, I thought that it would be the one I had been looking for. I have been using it for both road and offroad riding, and it is pretty comfy for a while, but then it starts to hurt. I find myself moving around on it a lot, trying to find that elusive comfort spot for my burning backside. I can put up with it, especially on the singletracks here, as they are tight, twisty, rocky and like a rollercoaster with roots, and I am off and on the seat regularly, so its not so bad.
But on the road, it is a different matter. I'm ok for the first few miles, but then the pain starts to set in, and I have to constantly move around on the seat trying to get comfortable.
As the seat is brand new, and I havn't been riding for a few years and have just re-started again, i'm not placing all the blame on the seat here..as I know that it takes a while for your backside to get used to riding again.
I will probably update this review after a couple of months as I become fitter and more accustomed to riding and my rear end toughens up..
For now though, i'm a bit disappointed in the seat, after reading such glowing reports about it.
I guess that I was expecting too much...I dunno.
I'm also having problems getting it in the "right" position on the post. The angle either seems too high at the nose, or too low, depending on where I position it on the serrated seat clamp.
Anywayz, i'll persist with it for a while, hopefully my backside will toughen up a bit and then i'll be happier with the comfort of the seat.
For now, a low score on the comfort side, but a high score on the looks, finish and weight...
5 for appearance. 2 for comfort.

If you're looking for a comfortable seat, stop looking, this is the one. I read the reviews on this seat and thought giving it a try, though some reviewers disagree. Can't say much for the disagreement, because - Ohh what a remarkable difference in comfort. This er truely an awesome product. Many times i looked down at my tire because i thought i had a punkture, because of the great shock absorbation, but everytime the tire was ok. Testet the shock absorbation on some nasty roots and just as i thought, i raced through it faster as i ever did.
Some might think that it's a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny and quality has it price!

When building up my Turner I noticed the reviews for this saddle and took a chance. I've always viewed saddles as an evil necessary to prevent the seat post from performing a prostate exam. I've tried several and ended up sticking with the one the was the least painful rather than the most comfortable. Well that all changed when I graced the Laser V with my cheeks, or should I say my cheeks with the Laser V... anyway, you know that 2-3 day trial period that you've got to give a saddle to see if it'll hurt any less than the day before? I didn't experience any of that. None, it was comfortable from day one. I know this product isn't for everyone, but before you go buy another saddle give this one a try. 5 chilis all around, as far as the value goes how can you place a price on a comfortable saddle?

Light, comfortable, and really good looking. Just the right amount of padding (not too hard and not too mushy). Perfect fit for my "sit bones" with the padding in the right place. Laid off biking for 10 years. Started up recently with brand new mountain bike riding on pavement at first (to get in shape) and now alternate some on local bike trail. When I got started again, it was a pain in the ass - literally. I've put in over 500 miles with about the last 100 on this saddle. The first 400 miles were hell (tried 3 different saddles including the Terry Liberator, the OEM saddle and an old Avocet I had lying around) on my butt at least while the last 100 have been great on the WTB. With that said, be sure to make sure you can return/exchange any saddle. I bought a Terry Liberator based on reviews here and I hated it. Was able to return it for refund and bought this one - also with refund guarantee. Saddles are the most personal part of a bike and results may very. At any rate, my results with this saddle have been great and, if you're in the sore butt boat, it's worth a try.

Bottom Line:
I broke my existing seat on my Trek. I landed on it pretty hard and bent the underbar and cracked the saddle. Most painful biking experience of my life. I decided it was time to get a new seat. The main thing i looked for was the strength of the underbars. The laser V has titanium bars, and u cant get much stronger and lighter than that. A similar seat had magnesium bars for about the same price. I took the laser V because i thought it looked awsome and it was stronger. I really wish i would have sat on the saddle before i bought it because i soon found out that you cant judge a book by it's cover (the hard way). My ass already had hurt from landing and breaking my old seat so the stiffness of the laser only exaggerated my uncomfort. Mabye it's just me, and my bruise was already bothering me before i got this seat, but from some reviews i read, i saw some other people complaining about the comfort of the seat. I know this seat is not made for comfort, which is why i deal with it.

As another user pointed out this product had great reviews. Based exclusively on that I purchased this expensive saddle without ever testing it or even seeing it in person. This thing feels almost as bad as the all the other saddles I ever used. My friend who has the Laser V version(which is the same shape and size, only different material) shares my opinion. And we have completely different body types, so it can't be that this saddle wasn't made for a skinny guy or a thicker build fellow. It hurts both of us. I played with saddle position, trying to find a comfortable spot, for a month and it still feels the same. I did the 5 Borough Bike Tour which was 42 miles and by the 30th mile it was killing me.
DON'T EVER buy a saddle without at least sitting on it first at the store. I hate buying from local shops, but a saddle is something you can't buy based on other people's reviews. Spend a little more at your bike shop and get something that will pay off in the long run.

Bottom Line:
After riding for the past 4 weeks with the new saddle, I have to agree with the overall strong rating of this saddle. My only complaint is I sometimes ride a bit forward in the saddle and other times I'm seated towards the back (seated climb). When I'm too forward the grooved channel doesn't extend quite far enough to take all the pressure off the groin. I read that in another reviewer's post and agree. Not a big deal if you just slide the seat back on the seat rails but then you're forced to stay seated that way throughout the ride. The cushioning on the pads is far and away better than the stock seat that came on the bike. As for durability of the covering, I haven't wiped out bad enough to see if it tends to shred or not. I read on this site about the change WTB made to use kevlar on the sides. I can't say I ended up with the model that has kevlar as it doesn't have that braided kevlar look to it. A bit pricey, but well worth not having a numb or sore rear end. As a nice bonus, I've noticed the titanium rails absorb additional shock when I've inflated the tires to a higher pressure.

Bottom Line:
Great Saddle! Light and very, very comfy.
I liked my original WTB but it was thrashed after less than a year. It didn't have kevlar sides and both sides were shredded. I had wanted to buy another WTB but when the Stealths originally came out, they didn't have kevlar sides. I wasn't going to buy something that would be torn to hell after 6 months (I even emailed WTB about this). So, I tried two selle italia's. I thought they were very well made but not very comfortable. I hated the shape of the trimatic and the flite was just a little too hard for my liking...so I just kept riding my old torn up WTB.
Anyway, this year WTB added kevlar sides to the Stealth and I was sold. I've ridden mine now for a little over a month and have absolutely no complaints. This is by far the best saddle I've owned. Light, very comfortable and very well made. 5 chili's!! and a thanks to WTB for listening and putting kevlar sides on a great saddle.

Bottom Line:
I've been looking for a saddle like this for a long time - this is it! My roommate bought one when they first came out and I couldn't believe how light it was for how plush it felt. My only big concern was in the original design, there wasn't any kevlar around the edges to protect it (similar to picture above), and since my bike enjoys exploring rocks on it's own every now and again :) I didn't want to pay that much for a seat that would quickly get destroyed. So I kept on looking and testing other saddles, but kept coming back to this one because of it's comfort and weight, so I finally went ahead and ordered one. When it came I was pleasantly surprised to see that they changed the styling slightly and it now has kevlar around the corners! (and I love the carbon look down the center channel) After many rides I am very happy with this seat - thanks WTB!

A great saddle for any rider who wants to sit on a couch, while still ride a super lightweight saddle. There was no break in time and the padding still feels great today. The fading decals are just a sign of wear and are not a big deal. This is a great saddle for long rides, or endurance races because of the great comfort and race lightness. An all around great saddle.

Who says ergonomic seats can't be light as well? This seat is not only extremely comfortable, it's very light. The titanium rails and seat's shell assure the lightness. The Love Channel and Comfort Zone ease the pressure where pressure needs to be eased (you're bits and pieces will thank you). No more numbness or discomfort on long rides or work outs on the trainer. Strong and durable construction.
Bar none, the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden. WTB produces a seat that strikes a perfect balance between comfort, durability, and lightness. 5 flaming chilis all the way.

Many, many saddles. Usually for very short duration.
Bike Setup:
I prefer hardtails.
Bottom Line:
I believe this saddle is the best effort from WTB yet. I wanted to comment on a few things: (1) Titanium rails at 7mm fit every seatpost. However titanium is quite flexible (usually good for a seat rail) so a hit from the bottom directed back can easily pop the rail out of its socket. The best way to reinstall a rail is to pop both sides out in back and then pull the base off at the nose, then reinsert both rails in back and use a big bomber screwdriver to lever the base forward acting against the U tip of the rail. (2) Cost of the lightweight padding is high to WTB. However, the quality of the compression seems worth it. (3) WTB made a grave mistake early on by putting next to no padding in SST saddles. This was changed 2-3 years ago. Certainly too much padding is not good... (4) WTB takes ride quality seriously. We ride what we sell and want you to enjoy your experience. Your satisfaction is our guarantee of repeat business.
I think this saddle is a good product for most riders. Because I am a principal and designer in WTB I avoid posting reviews. However, I feel this product is exceptional and I did want to make the point regarding ti rail repair.
Happy trails.

There may be other good seats out there but I know several people who've switched to this seat, myself included, and without exception everyone is quite happy with it. If you want to save a few bucks you can get the cromo version from Supergo.com for $45. Show your butt how much you care. I only give it 4 chilis on the value because I think all ATB stuff is way overpriced.

The saddle kicks ass. I like the love channel WTB has designed and I hope they keep with this product. The love channel allows me to shift my ass forward without putting pressure in the area it initailly is tring to alleviate. I would strongly recommend this saddle. Another thing about wtb saddle is that they have an even platform for seat bones instead of slopping. This prevents the middle of the saddle from pressing into groin.

Bottom line is that my bottom was screaming for me to replace my '00 Body Geometry Comp. That thing was a real pain the A$$. Figure if there is a chance riding can hurt you in the bedroom, why risk it?!?! Bought the saddle in the MTBR Marketplace, got a pretty good deal vs retail. Have only been out on two rides, so only about 4 hours on saddle. Very comfortable, shaped well for my nether regions. Only potential issue is that after two rides (4hours) the leather on the cover is already rubbing off in certain places. Must admit this is a bit of a concern from a long term durability standpoint. However, I did buy cheap, so we'll see. Overall in a world of really uncomfortable saddles, this one seems pretty darn good. Taking one flamer away foir my long term durability concerns, will follow up post and upgarde rating if appropriate.
