    Date Reviewed: August 7, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:VERY STIFF, PLUSH, LIGHT WEIGHT, SIMPLE TO ADJUST ON THE FLY, GREAT COMPRESSION DAMPENING, GOOD LOCK-OUT & IT HAS A HIGH-TECH LOOK.
Weaknesses:NONE - Not really a weakness. There is some stiction during the break-in period which is actually mentioned in the White Brothers manual. I'm sure it will pass once I have enough miles to seat the seals etc.
Similar Products Used:Marzocchi Marathon - Only demo'ed. Rigid Karate Monkey.
Bike Setup:SOULCRAFT "Holy Roller" 29er Singlespeed - Awesome custom fit and best handling bike 29er I've ridden.
Bottom Line:The White Brothers fork is sweet. I ride very rocky Southern Nevada trails and having the 80 mm of responsive, plush travel greatly improves stability, speed and comfort. The controls are user friendly and easy to micro adjust. No other fork has better compression dampening.

    Date Reviewed: March 21, 2004
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $599.00
    Purchased At:ekosport
    Strengths:STIFFNESS A+
    Adjustability A+
    Servicability A
    Weight A
    Company Service A++
Weaknesses:Ultra fine thread on the bolt holding the lockout adjuster knob in place is a definate design flaw.

    This Fork is VERY Expensive!
    Similar Products Used:Manitou South
Bike Setup:04 Fisher dual sport 129 with many goodies!
Bottom Line:The Fork took over a month to come in and arrived with striped bolt threads as mentioned above. One phone call to Eko Sport and three days later a new "entire mechanism" shows up. In five minutes the repair was complete. Eko Sport does not screw around with service issues. They solve them!!!

Since then the fork performs like a Dream. I'm 190lbs. and can detect NO lateral flex what so ever. The lockout works well and experimenting with the dial setting/air pressure has proved just how versitile this fork really is. If you want plush? .... no problem. You want rock stiff? ... Just dial it in. If you're one of those riders who insist on a setting that is just a rat's ass hair away from somewhere in the middle then this fork is for you. In other words: This fork can be very easily and finely tuned.

As far as for ruggedness, I don't think 2 months is enough time to judge, but I have punished the fork as much as one can in 400+ miles and it seems to just want more.

    Date Reviewed: March 19, 2004
    Favorite Trail:The empty one
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:I have the .8 and the 1.0, and the comments below apply to both of them.
    Tracks like a rigid fork.
Compression damping adjustable from wide-open free-floatin' to locked-down Ricky Racer, and everywhere in between.
Wide range of external rebound adjustment.
Lightest 29" production fork made (.8).
Weaknesses:Wish I would have had it 5 years ago...
Similar Products Used:All the Marzocchi 29" forks, a handful of custom 29" forks, 2 different Manitou 29" forks, and just about every 26" offering since the original Rock Shox.
Bike Setup:29" hardtail, softtail, fs, and single speed.
Bottom Line:There is no better suspension fork for 29" wheeled bikes. It's light weight, precise tracking, and easy adjustability should please even the finickiest performance addicts, as well as the weeniest weight freaks.

    Favorite Trail:can't tell ya
    Duration Product Used:3 months

Strengths:uber stiff, ultra smooth, infinitely variable compression damping.
    Weaknesses:noe so far...
Similar Products Used:for 26", just about everything from the rs-1 on.
Bike Setup:surly karate monkey, single speed.
Bottom Line:great fork! after test riding someone's marzocchi, i'm soooooooo glad i bought the wb!
seriously, this thing steers almost as good as a rigid fork, but soaks up the bumps like a champ. i think this fork makes me a faster rider all around, especially on 24-hour solos.
