    Favorite Trail:Engadin Switzerland
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $34.00
    Purchased At:Bought in Switzerland
Strengths:Reliable, looks OK (but I do not have stars and stripes graphics), Does not drop contact in wet conditions. This is a plus in central Europe.
Weaknesses:the buttons are a little difficult to press for certain funtions, but you will survive. Maybe you go to the hardware store and get heavier duty platic straps and you're ready for anything.
Similar Products Used:2 differnet sigmas. Both could not handle wet weather conditions
Bike Setup:XT hardtail with XTR V-brakes with brake boosters/marzoch fork
Bottom Line:I needed a comp quick and just bought this one on the way home passing a bike shop. Then I went on MTBR.com to see the ratings and said, "Oh SXXT, it don't stack up to well." But, I have to say I would buy another one if I did not have to pay the rip-off price I paid due to urgent need.
Sure, it's a bit of a pain with re-set double pressing of small knobs, but it works and I never had a cyclocomputer that ran from April to October without a hitch AND the sensors never lost contact. Oh Yeah, the battery is still going strong after about 1,000 Miles of Forest Biking.

    Date Reviewed: October 27, 2005
    Favorite Trail:Engadin, Switzerland
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $38.00
    Purchased At:In Switzerland
Strengths:Easy to mount. good profile and has mounts for a riser bar. So far after 3 months of biking it is accurate. Funny to say this, but it has a lot of smooth rounded edges so it feels good to press around real hard when you're stressed on the bike and want info. It doesn't cut off the blood on your fingertips. I like it short term, let's see over the longer haul.
Weaknesses:I see this thing gets hammered a lot for difficulty in the pressing of buttons but I don't have that much of a problem although I agree this part of the functionality is not great but OK. Display is little harder to read compared to Sigma 1600 but it works.
Similar Products Used:Sigma-Switch to Vetta after not being so happy with Sigma 1600 after 2 years use (Read review)
Bike Setup:XT/XTR Vbrkes/Conti Explor/Rock Shox duke/German bike called Red Bull (No relation to drink)
Bottom Line:It is really too early to rave about anything but so far so good. I needed a computer fast after my sigma snapped, and went to the nearest shop and pick this one up. THEN I read some of these reviews on this site and said OH SXXt!! But, I feeling pretty good so far. Just make sure you crank down on the slip ties and I think it will hold up, let's see. I'll be back to hammer this comp in a few months if it goes south.

Submitted by john ford a Weekend Warrior from uk
    Date Reviewed: October 19, 2004
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $36.00
Strengths:All the features the casual cyclist will need
Weaknesses:The cheap 'n' nasty way it fixes to the bike
    (cable ties!)
    Similar Products Used:avocet, cateye
    Bike Setup:Giant xt450
Bottom Line:The later models have more features but earlier vetta
models had a better made feel, not to mention easier to read digits.
The strange shaped buttons are a tad fiddly (a case of style over functionality) and it is impossible to
tighten the cable tie fixings enough, consequently the
whole thing swivels on the handlebar every time a button
    is pressed.

Submitted by Shawn a Weekend Warrior from Palo Alto, CA
    Date Reviewed: July 18, 2003
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:Bike Connection
Strengths:nice design, lots of features without being too expensive. comparator is a nice feature
Weaknesses:Slips off mount when trying to use buttons. Side release tabs are cumbersome.
Similar Products Used:none - my first bike computer
Bike Setup:mid eighties raleigh road bike
Bottom Line:OK deal for the information provided versus the price, although i'd think again before buying another product from vetta at this price. Currently shopping for a computer for my mtn bike, but i don't think this will do. Slipping out of the mount when you want to see different info is too much of an annoyance to warrant another purchase of this model.

Similar Products Used:Trek 2.0...not good either.

Submitted by Furman a Racer from Fayetteville, NC
    Date Reviewed: July 16, 2001
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $28.00
    Strengths:Looks pro.
Weaknesses:If it performed as well as it looks, this would be a very good piece of equipment. Set up and installation is easy and straightforward, but right out of the box the screens are difficult to change due to the inferior design of the buttons. I have to press like a you know what to maybe get to the next screen and thats not what I want to be doing when I'm trying to concentrate on staying in the hunt. Maybe I just got a lemon, but I'm definetly looking for another computer and I'm not looking at Vetta.
    Similar Products Used:Sigma
Bottom Line:Good value, all necessary functions (when you can get to them)and pro look make this an attractive unit. I can't recommend it in it's present configuration because of the difficult to press buttons.

    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:REI
    Strengths:COOL LOOK
Weaknesses:I had a few problems with this computer. The buttons are hard to push and when you pushed them it "pops" out of the holder. 4 hours of riding I caught it twice and it hit the ground twice. No good.
    Similar Products Used:Still looking
    Bike Setup:Marin Larkspur
Bottom Line:Looks good but dosen't cut it

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Strengths:Features
    Weaknesses:Delicate wiring harness
    Weak buttons
Similar Products Used:Various computers from Specialized, Cateye, Schwinn, &c.
Bike Setup:Redline Conquest Pro cyclocross bike
Bottom Line:I would not recommend this series of computers, mainly because of the "barely there" buttons. You simply cannot operate the computer with any sort of full fingered gloves.

    Similar Products Used:Sigma BC600

Bottom Line:It's pretty good but I think it is overpriced for what it has.

    Weaknesses:nothing so far
    Bike Setup:Mongoose Nx7.3 '00
Bottom Line:It's a great little product! It doesn't have a Cadence sensor - but if your not training or racing who needs it.
I think it great value for money. Also comes in a range of colours to suit your rig. Dig the US Postal!
