Submitted by jetrenkel a Weekend Warrior from Monmouth, OR
Date Reviewed: February 22, 2009
Favorite Trail:Dan's
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:lbs
Strengths:Easy to build, superb to ride, hardcore indestructibility
Weaknesses:Are you one of those wussies who weighs something before you can decide if its a good product or not? They are light enough. Give up on on the weight weenie thing. You aren't racing in the tour.
Similar Products Used:Stans, Mavic
Bike Setup:Hope SS hubs and DT comp spokes on a Surly Karate Monkey
Bottom Line:Sweet rims. At 6'5", 220lbs and on a SS I'm ideal for destroying week stuff, but these have held. Minimal truing needed. I have the utmost faith in velocity products from road to mountain and will continue buying from them well into the future.

Favorite Trail:Butter Milk
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:lbs
Strengths:Durability
Weaknesses:.....none I have seen
Similar Products Used:nothing as nice as this
Bike Setup:GF Rig, P2 fork, avid BB7 brakes, Mary bar, Eno cranks, XT hubs w/ blunt rims 36 spoke
Bottom Line:Although I have not ridden lots of mountain rims I think these are a great choice for a 29er rim. They have stood up to my 230lbs with minimal truing needed.

Submitted by Jeremy Gwin a Racer from Ouachita Mountains
Date Reviewed: May 9, 2008
Favorite Trail:Womble
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Horse Trade
Strengths:Strength
Weaknesses:Weight
Similar Products Used:WTB Laser Disc, Mavic Crossmax
Bike Setup:Felt Nine Pro, Blunts w/ XT hubs, Specialized Fast Trac Rear, Specialized Captian Control Front.
Bottom Line:Good wheels, can take the knocks of daily XC riding. I replaced my stock wheels with this set (see the other review) and I am plaesed right off the bat. THey arent as light as my racing wheel set but they are a lot tougher than the WTB's that came with my bike. THey hold the tires well and can take quite the pounding. I will buy Velcity products in the future
