Date Reviewed: February 12, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | outside! | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Well-designed, value-for-money, full-suspension, aluminium-framed bike | | Weaknesses: | Y-frame difficult to caddy on conventional bike-carriers. Apparent "incompatibility" of Shimano and Gripshift components. Fitting a carrier (for touring) may be awkward, due to the rear suspension's movement. | | Bike Setup: | 22" frame with 750lb rear spring, seat at max (I'm 6ft6 / 92Kg / 2m), Linda (6ft, 65Kg) has 22" frame with 500lb spring. | | Bottom Line: | My wife and I both have these bikes, with different setups, we enjoy cross-country riding, and are very happy with their performance. The design of the Aluminium frame is good, with gussets where neccessary, and the suspension is dandy for rough terrain, without absorbing noticeable power. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
