    Favorite Trail:Driveway
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $119.00
    Purchased At:Walmart
Strengths:Not many: Tires and tube seem alright rim bent a little
Weaknesses:Way too heavy, that takes away anything good about it. If you are riding hard, the rear shock absorbs any effort you put into it. Cant go fast unless its downhill, way too heavy, the front has bent gears and skips when you pedal, (started after I had the bike 3 years),shifters just broke this year, and it's shock is not the greatest, too spongy.
    Similar Products Used:Trek mt. bike
Bottom Line:Its good if you are doing like one hour a month on it for a few years, but I have spent more than 10 hours of labor trying to get the shifters and cassette, and gears to work. I have had the bike 5 years, and have not put 200 miles on it, it shouldn't have to be adjusted so much and worked on as much as it is. Don't buy this bike, its not worth it! All the good ratings were written by downhill riders(they didn't have to try to go up a hill) or people with the bike for a year or less, dont listen to them unless you want a bike that is good for a year then starts breaking. I would give this 0 Chili's if I could!!!

Weaknesses:everything that is on the bike and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to heavy. My schwinn frame weighs 2.9 lbs.
    Similar Products Used:Giant, and Schwinn
    Bike Setup:Giant warp DS 3
Bottom Line:POS...There is nothing I like about these bikes. They are very very very weak I have broke 3 of them in 1 month that is why I got a Schwinn. I have been alot rougher on my Schwinn then I was on the Next and there is nothing wrong with the schwinn after 9 months. I will not put anything on my bikes from Wal*mart. I will not buy a bike from wal mart as long as I live. If you buy a good bike like Giant and Schwinn, it will last you the rest of your life without anything going wrong on it. I love my Giant and Schwinn. I won't sell them. Don't buy a Wal Mart bike.

Weaknesses:Need some heavy duty padding on the seats
Similar Products Used:Mongoose...the cheap kind from walmart

Bottom Line:Overall a good buy...You will be happy as long as you don't expect it to ride like a $1000 bike. Well worth the money. Worse comes to worse I can throw it in a dumpster and not feel bad about all that money I spend.

    Purchased At:wal-mart
Strengths:good shocks, good brakes, strong frame
Weaknesses:VERY HEAVY! seat post is not long enough, front axle bent after 2 weeks, bearings wore out and turned square after 2 weeks, break pads dont stay in place, everything on it comes loose even after i tightened it, hand grips are too smooth, bearings get loose and have to be tightend every week, 7th and 6th gear skips teeth when peddeling hard.
    Similar Products Used:huffy

Weaknesses:The weld just below the head tube broke on the fork. Glad I noticed it before it fell off while I was riding. That would have hurt.
Similar Products Used:I had a Mongoose bike from Walmart also and the same thing
    happened!
Bottom Line:THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP OF MY POST BELOW.

They gave me this bike as a replacement for my last bike. Unless you want to visit the ER because the fork fell off while riding and your head split open, don't buy this bike! I would NOT buy another bike from wal-mart if they were free! Some people below me must be revewing another bike, this one is not light and is not aluminum!

    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:A great frame, nice rims, Looks great, Very good overall. Rockets down hills, flies through the air(big time), very strong
Weaknesses:I had to reaplace the rear derailer after about 1 month, shocks need longer travel, could be lighter, handle bars don't stay tight. had to tighten every bolt (thanks WAL-MART!!)
    Similar Products Used:Mongoose DX 40
Bike Setup:added self sealing tubes, rear cargo rack, fiberglass fender, replaced kickstand, new derailer, front bag, modified pedals
Bottom Line:This is a great bike for the price, I have lots of frenquent flyer miles on it. Needs to be assembled better. Don't ever trust you Wal'mart bike buddies to asseble your bike correctly. I love the bike.

Submitted by bike rider a Weekend Warrior from southeastern usa
    Date Reviewed: July 16, 2000
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Great price. Nice ride. Excellent bike for easier trails and beginers. Looks expensive. Tough frame. Tackles rough land better than other Wal-Mart bikes.
Weaknesses:Cheap hardware. Gears are cheap - gear's metal rips under pressure. Break parts are cheap and will not stay fixed. Seat is too low. Handle bars will not stay tight. Tires flatten with hard jumps - maybe I'm just too rough!
    Similar Products Used:Other Wal-Mart bikes
    Bike Setup:Floor model, as is.
Bottom Line:I really enjoyed one good year of riding the bike on rough land. I like the bounce of the full suspension. After one year, it is really starting to wear out. I do not regret buying it, but I feel it is not tough enough for me. This is a really good alternative to the stiff diamond frames if you need an everyday bike for the roads.

Strengths:Cheap for starters. Looks good, looks expensive. Free service repairs. Better than a huffy.
Weaknesses:The seat is like riding a rock. The frame is like heavier than a boulder. The Wal-Mart "bike-techs" can't put it together right. But hey, you get what you pay for.
Similar Products Used:Other cheapo-bikes. Hey, I'm not made of money.
Bike Setup:New Gel seat, I had to, just ask Thomas.

    Strengths:Built really well! Cheap Price!
Weaknesses:Really Really heavy, bad components, Bad seat, Not a name brand!
    Similar Products Used:Mongoose
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:This bike is a boat anchor and can be used for one, but that would be one expensive one! The people below need their heads examined if you say this is a good bike. This bike is way to heavy to do any good for any kind of riders and is not worth the money for a hundred more you can buy a Specialized Hardrock that is way better and alot lighter than this boat anchor! I would like to take a slug hammer to you idiots who gave this for even five stars!

    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Good strong bike for fraction of the cost of other duals.
Weaknesses:A little heavy, seat post is to short and it hard to find another 25.4mm post anywhere, & wish it had a water bottle cage.
    Similar Products Used:huffy(walmart) & Mongoose hardtail(walmart)
Bike Setup:added clipless pedals & brake booster
Bottom Line:As I said before, good strong bike for fraction of the cost of other duals, but a little heavy but the lightest dual they had at Walmart. I've put 300 miles on it so far and have had no major problems with it. Best bike i've had yet. I evan put skinny tires on it and road it 70 miles on the road. But when you get any bike from walmart you should always check them over completly, because their "professional" bike builders don't know a thing about bikes. If you've been riding a ridged or hardtail, and want to move up a step without spending $500, this is the bike to get.

    Strengths:
super cheap for a full suspension bike
only $4 a pound! cheaper than top round steak
    good workout for legs
    Weaknesses:
super heavy, mine weights around 45lbs, no kidding
    Walmart brand
    pedal's edges are too sharp
can't go any faster than 16mile/hr, rear susp. sucks all of your energy
    Similar Products Used:
    99 trek 4000

Bottom Line:This is my housemate's bike. I took it out for rides a few times during the summer. It is heavy as hell and the bike bounces wheneve I try to step on the pedels. It was like riding a 60 lbs bike with two flat tires. I put it on a scale and it weight 45 lbs! The brakes are OK, the grip shifts are OK too. The bike seems able to take abuse. The front shock seems too soft and it is not adjustable. For around $149 from walmart, you will got what you pay for with this bike. on the other hand, you can just got a $89 bike from the same place with the exaclty the same front shock that acccelerate twice as fast...
