from Palo Alto, CA USA Date Reviewed: August 25, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Purchased At: | HiBike, Germany | | Strengths: | Extremely light at a true 182g due to carbon fiber axle. Tune was very helpful in assisting with adjustments via fax, phone and email. | | Weaknesses: | Have to adjust freeplay with shims, cost. | | Similar Products Used: | Chris Kings | | Bike Setup: | 21lb. Ellsworth Truth, with Storck Power Arms, Precision Billet derailleurs, Mrazek brakes, GripShifts, Speedplay, SID with Total Air cartridges | | Bottom Line: | Hard to adjust play initially, but once there, has not needed adjustment so far.
Nothing can touch these hubs for lightness. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Palo Alto Date Reviewed: April 8, 2002 | | Favorite Trail: | Berkeley Hills | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Light weight, reinforced hub flange | | Weaknesses: | Price! And stiff rachet mechanism, back pedaling in lower gears causes chain skip, whatever, the bike, RD, or chain. Front hub is 'weak', bearings not isolated | | Similar Products Used: | Chris King classic | | Bike Setup: | Ellsworth Truth, Arch Supreme V brakes, | | Bottom Line: | Rear hubs are built stronger than the front hubs. But rachet is still very stiff, even after 300-400 miles and 6 months. Greasing only alleviates stiffness for a short while (2-3, 2 hr rides). Otherwise, built quality (thicker flanges, bearing fit, etc) are on par with Chris Kings. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
