I have no respect for any part of this crankset. They ruined a lot of fun for me having to fix them almost everyride.

Bottom Line:
Pieces of JUNK! They came with the bike when I bought it, but now they are going to be replaced, as they are stripped out everywhere. I noticed after a ride that I was beginning to get a slight creaking noise from the bottom bracket area...turns out one of the crank arms was totally loose. Went to pull out one of the crank bolts, and found that the threads were completely stripped. Fortunately I could still get my crank removal tool in there to get both sides off. When I went to try and remove my pedals, the inserts threaded right out, and are pretty much fused to my pedals. What a bunch of garbage.... my old Specialized cranks from '97 have taken more of a beating than these things and are still solid! Save your money and buy something else if you're gonna do any kind of freeriding,DH, jumps, etc...

i dont see how it is possible to rip out the inserts when your on a dually never mind a hard tail
bottom line: if you like buying your cranks 2 and 3 times get these piles. if you wanna buy once go race face
id put zero flaming chillis for value but i cant 1 falming chilli overall for the truvative name and the strength of the bashguard

Strengths:
Stiff, Strong, Have held up to 6 foot drops (with 200 lb rider).

Bottom Line:
I've given these cranks a pretty good run for their money and they've held up great (the cross-pinned set that is). The rings are hardened steel on my set which isn't the lightest, but durable as hell. If these cranks ever need replacement I'll either go with another set of these or some Holzfellers.

I reccomended them to a friend when he busted his cranks, he loves them. Strong enough for downhill, yet light enough for freeride, ultra stiff.

They lasted me a year, they look cool for a while, its made by Truvativ.
Weaknesses:
Paint wears off quick, Flexy arms, I broke the pedal inserts by going off a 3 foot jump. They strip so easy at the pedal inserts and where you are supposed extract the crank. This product blows, and there is barely a warranty on it. For $150-200, you could buy a quality crankset compared to this.
Soul Cycles Loki, 80mm Psylo, sram drivetrain, e13 chainguide, sunrims front and rear
Bottom Line:
Don't buy this crank. Get V-drive extremes or some cromoly BMX cranks. For the price, you could get a nice set of cranks. These are horrible, no wonder they call these "stripfelts".

tell you what, if you're thinking of getting cranks that you don't plan to replace for a LONG time, don't even consider getting anything other than the hussefelts. These are ultra strong for DH/ freeride yet light enough to go uphill. Don't bother with raceface... although they are undeniably the best choice in most cases, they're too expensive and these cranks are doing much better than the RF prodigy DH cranks that I bent in less than a year.

Strong crank arms and tough ring works very well with truvativ chain guid good for jumping
Weaknesses:
Comes loose very fast. ISIS drive damages inside of crankarms when used.
Bottom Line:
This is a very strong crank undoubtedly and for the price it is good value. BUT i was using this crank and i was cycling along a main road and the crank fell off. It had all been tightened the day before so this should never have happened. On closer inspection i discovered the inside of the crank arms had been damaged by the bb. Because of this i am inclind not to recomend this. If u had not have had this experience my ratings would be higher. MAKE sure you take an 8mm with you if using these cranks.

This is just an initial review, but my first impressions are very favorable. Nice craftsmanship, very beefy, and good instructions. I've ridden them hard one time, and came away totally pleased with my purchase. I'll follow up with more after I've done more DH. One thing I'm very pleased about is Truvativ's customer service. I have an older Specialized Team DH frame, and was unsure about the spindle length I'd need to use w/ these cranks. I called Truvativ's warranty dep't, and the guy told me he would call around and do some homework for me, and would have an answer in less than a day. In fact, he got back to me in an hour!
