what a piece of garbage. after one ride i was getting tons of chain problems from my middle ring. after, i looked closely and realized it was bent. i brought it back to my bike shop, and they replaced it for free. we both figured i got a defective ring. two rides later, i shift hard going up a slight hill, and the chain sucks.... and the ring is bent again, in exactly the same place! right behind the arm. what a piece of crap. im in disbelief at how weak these chainrings are. im a light, fairly weak rider, and ive been doing this for years and usually get tons of life out of my equipment. totally inexcusable! I'm going to try to put all shimano rings on the crankset and see if that works.

Killer package for the price.
The 07 3.3 team is the best firex there is.same rings as noir/stylo and the team gxp bottom bracket as well. Only difference is in the crank arms. These are light enough and quite stiff-only a tiny bit of movement in the system which is only noticeable when your off the bike. I hit my big chain ring on this one log twice every ride-they are still straight and only after about 6 months of doing this ride once a weekend have i had to retighten one chainring bolt-no dramas at all.

decent crankset for cost. problems: non-drive side arm/bearing seal developed problem after 10 trail rides, one was very wet and dirty. dirt seeped into the spined area (which is also the bearing contact area), and caused slight corrosion on cro-mo spindle. cleaned up and seems to be better, but i'll be servicing the BB everytime i ride in muddy spring conditions to try to prolong life. one tooth on 26 ring sharkfinned after a dozen outings. this set isnt perfect, but the chainrings are on par with most other stock rings in this cost category, and the BB is better than others, i have had worse. wish i could give 3.6 but overall, i am pleased, it is very good for commuting, but...

left crank allen bolt design is horrible. Design equivelent to a threaded stem. Loosened during ride, left crank arm came off and dangled from my shoe. The splined spindle barely stripped and I haven't been able to keep it tight for long ever since, even with a lot of loctite.

Super Strong, handles 6-10 foot drops like they where made for them. And yet, strong enough even to handle many many many jolts and vibrations every trail offers. Looks are awesome. Rides great.

None i have had can compare to this, i broke 3 cranksets during previous years, including two shimanos and the stock one the bike came with, but these stand up to my demands and are always ready for a beating.
Bike Setup:
Many upgrades. this is one of them. Upgrades include a Marzocchi all mountain 3 eta fork, Shimano cassette that kicks ass, new chain, new rims new just about everything. Much better than stock package.
Bottom Line:
Simply awesome cranks, sure they arent Race Face, but they can easily compare. Buy them, thank me later.
