$27000.00 | | Purchased At: | Trek San Diego | | Strengths: | Durable. Climbs well. Stiff frame, stiff rear triangle. | | Weaknesses: | Paint chips too easy. | | Similar Products Used: | Trek 7000 hardtail, Gary Fisher Sugar | | Bike Setup: | Stock except for saddle, Ergon grips w/barends | | Bottom Line: | This review is for the 2005 Top Fuel 110. Im a 220 pound rider and was a little skeptical about how the carbon and lightweight components would hold up under weight and heavy riding. I was especially thinking about the rear triangle flex, bushings and the World Cup forks. I ride cross country but I dont baby this bike. I ride in an area with ruts, rocks, long climbs, brief all out vertical climbs and this bike does it all without complaint. My aluminum bikes and components flex under full power to the point of the chainwheel rubbing on the derailer, but not this. The front fork was probably not designed for riders my weight, but with 175 PSI and 165 PSI top and bottom, it soaks up the hits and sticks to the dirt. Front and rear lockouts are a MUST for a heavy rider. The only think Ive replaced is the middle chainring. This bike will do far more than I am capable of and considering it was the Trek Team Issue bike, theres no doubt it can pay the bills. Only thing that could be better is the paint durability. Lots a rock chips but then again, the cranks have quite a few chinks in the armor and theyre aluminum.. oh well. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2500.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | The bike is light...mine is at 24 pounds with pedals...The thing climbs like im on a ski lift and for a XC bike descends great... On flat ground you can really excel by going for hours at a really high speed with minimal fatigue... This bike does most of the work | | Weaknesses: | If your a serious downhiller...this bike is not meant for you | | Bike Setup: | Trek Top Fuel 110, Full XTR, FireXCpro's | | Bottom Line: | It was the Trek Team racing bike so it is top of the line...If you can find one for a little below the retail $5500 I would suggest you get it | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$5500.00 | | Purchased At: | Bikes and Moore, Hopkinsville, KY | | Strengths: | This Frame comes with a lifetime warranty. The Bike is extremely light @ 23.8 pounds. There is nothing you can really do to this bike to make it any more perfect. I love everything about this bike. The people at Bikes and Moore were excellent when it came down to tuning it for me. | | Weaknesses: | The selection of tires could be better. On my first 10 minutes of riding I crashed do to over inflation of the tires. You can save at least another pound by mounting a good set of tubeless tires, the rims will do both. I also found the saddle to be too stiff and will replacec it with a selle Italia like on my other rides. | | Similar Products Used: | I also ride a Kona Kula, full XTR and Rock Shox SID forks and a Specialized ALLEZ Road bike. | | Bike Setup: | Stock from Trek | | Bottom Line: | This bike is a perfect racer straight out of the box. If you save up enough ($5500) you will enjoy a superb ride and will not have to replace anything on it to make it better. PERFECT!!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
