Favorite Trail:Any urban/nature freeride trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:from a friend
Strengths:Bombproof frame, with big&massive construction.
Bontrager parts are strong and reliable.
Rhyno lite rims are awesome.Great braking power by Juicy5.
Suspension fork can take a lot of hard landings.
Weaknesses:Weight. Its a bull, much more for FR than street tricks.
Similar Products Used:Kona stuff,Wheeler buddy,Bike Stop Opium,Giant STP,but this
best suits my ride needs :)
Bike Setup:Manitou Stance Static, 80mm/Avid Juicy 5, hidraulikkk diskkk, 8" front, 6" rear/Bontrager King Earl 36/24(36 only!)/Bontrager Big Earl, 70mm riser, 31.8mm/Bontrager Earl 31.8mm stem/Sun Rhyno Lite rims/Bontrager Earl, 26 x 2.40t tires/Bontrager Big Earl platform pedals with pins/Bontrager King Earl 31.8mm seatpost and saddle/Truvativ chain guide (custom made for 36t)
Bottom Line:If u wanna strong, reliable hardtail for any urban assault,
jumping stairs,walls,etc,then this is the bike 4 u :)
Rolls great on a mountain,too.As i said,its a litlle bit
heavy for pure street/trials ride (tricks),but when it
comes to riding high speed down the street, over the
stairs and jumps, its unnssttooppaabbllee :)Great control
and balance, also. Now go ride and enjoy !

Favorite Trail:Ape (nothing to do with monkeys whatsoever)
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Trek.lv
Strengths:Note: I'm speaking only about the frame.
Great geometry. Easy to control. Grind plates on chainstays are great idea. thick steerer tube.
Weaknesses:Some spots of bad paint job.
Similar Products Used:Bikeman Zecke / Giant Acid
Bike Setup:Mz MC comp 03, Truvativ Hollzfeller's, Grossman wheels, Avid BB7 w/DX lever (rear only)
Bottom Line:The best you can get for the money. And Trek has really wide dealer network, so you are covered in case anything happens to it. Not likely.

Date Reviewed: March 7, 2007
Favorite Trail:Highway
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $1430.00
Purchased At:kamikazi
Strengths:The strength of this product is solid and unstoppable. I own a Jack 3 and it never needs a repair unless I have a huge wipe out.
Weaknesses:It is a hardtail and it is hard landing.
Similar Products Used:Kona Cowan was almost as nice.
Bottom Line:The Jack 3 can beat out any other freeride hardtails going besides the Banshee Morphine but other than that, it is within the top 5 from my pick. NOW GO RIDE!
