Favorite Trail:Quarry Park
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $575.00
Purchased At:Trek
Strengths:The frame on it isn't half bad, it's actually pretty nice, the tubes seemed to work for awhile, the manitou fork isnt absolutely terrible
Weaknesses:O man, on this bike i think the bontrager rims are probably The worst part for me,was the rims, the pedals really aren't that nice either, nor are the grips if anybody cares about stuff that small
Similar Products Used:First actual ok mountain bike, sadly.
Bike Setup:Everything stock, lot of bantregar components, manitou fork, all the stuff i bought it with, except the tubes,i have changed those a couple of times, I also put a new back tire on there a little while ago.
Bottom Line:This bike was good for me when I was a beginner but now I think its a piece of poop. The frame is the only thing I dont dislike about it, though it does tend to chip a little. The rims are not anything to brag about, they worked quite well when i was a beginner and could do no more than a 1 and a half foot drops, but now that I can do up to 4 on it, they bend very easily. The fork isnt that bad either, it works well when i'm riding trails and stuff, but she bottoms out whenever I try and do 4 feet to flat. And I can do bigger drops than that on my friends bike, but I dont on mine for fear that it will die, and I will snap the frame or destroy my fork, or any other possible thing that could go wrong with it. The bottom line is is that if you are a beginner and will be doing mostly trail riding, this is probably the bike for you, but if your planning to beast it on the streets or try any sort of serious freeriding with it, I think you may want to stay away from it.Oh yah, and the pedals give very little grip and mine dented. The end
