DESCRIPTION
The Diplomat 29 delivers 120mm of travel in a compact, nimble handling package. It features a tapered head tube for additional stiffness, direct mount derailleur for crisp shifting. and plenty of tire clearance to accommodate those high volume tires.

Fun Fun Fun. Super plush. Inexpensive. Playful. Likes top hop around and jump. Stable. Plows through chunk. Comes with headset installed.
Too plush as it bottoms the shock too easily. Bottoms on 1" drops, and I can just stand and heave my weight down to bottom, and this is at about 20% sag. Will try a volume spacer to make it bit more progressive but keep the first bit of travel plush.
Had an issue with the lower main pivot squeaking and even after the fix it likes to loosen up.
Has a lot of chain growth which has resulted in some chain tension issues with a med cage dérailleur. I had crashed the dérailleur into the cassette before I discovered this. With an extra link to prevent this the small small gear combo is pretty lose.
Some pedal feedback while cranking and the suspension compresses.
Another comment is that it has full length cable housing, but the clips it comes with are hard to install and zip ties don't keep the housings in place quite good enough.
It seems my weaknesses list is much much longer than the strengths, but that is mostly nit picking. The frame was on sale for $1000 and thus proves to be great value for a 120mm FS 29er. The bike is very fun to ride and I love spending time on it despite some of the flaws. I am sure there are some other overall better bikes, but they are quite a bit more expensive as well.

Suspension, Looks, Quality, price
Weight. But than again it is not a xc racebike.
Plush suspension. Much comfort. Climbs great and is nice to ride. Feels like it has a litle understeer but this could be the tires or suspension to. Have to play a litle with the fork set up and the tire pressure.
Great price considering most 29er full suspension bikes.

This was a bike designed by John Tomac to ride like a 26" all mountain bike, to bridge the gap between 29ers and long travel 26" bikes. It carves turns, climbs great, and has the downhill stability of the 29er. Excellent all-around trail bike.
A little bit on the heavy side, but not meant to be an X/C race bike.
Fun bike, handles great, good value.
