$899.00 | | Purchased At: | colorado cyclist | | Strengths: | very rigid, nice components for price, very responsive, is a great climber, and is awesome downhill. | | Weaknesses: | wish it had front disc breaks, seatpost is 31.6 wich makes you have trouble finding replacments. The seat post bent on me, and i'm only 180 lbs. Also a weld broke on the seat stay and had to send it in for warranty. Mountain slick tires sucked. had a lot of traction problems. put z max tires on and problem solved. | | Similar Products Used: | Gary Fisher Tassahara, Rocky Mountain Elevation. Klein Attitude. Trek 4500 | | Bike Setup: | stock. lx,xt. ritchy z max tires. New handle grips | | Bottom Line: | I have riddin this bike extremly hard on trail and the road for almost a year. It did not let me down until the seat post broke and and the weld on the frame seat stay broke. Frame is nice, and the demensions are good. All components have lasted great, I clean and oil the drive system often, and grease the shock now and then. It still shifts and rides almost like new. I really have enjoyed this bike, and recomend it to hard tail riders. I'm only rating it a 4 on overall, cause of the seat post and weld problem. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$899.00 | | Purchased At: | coloradocyclist.com | | Strengths: | Basically everything! and at the price that coloradocyclist.com has them, you cannot go wrong with this phenomenol bike. Climbs like mountain goat over all kinds of terrain - superlight and unbelievably responsive - great component set for the price... | | Weaknesses: | Manitou Mars fork - I think this may be better suited for lighter riders - I'm 6-3, 200 lbs. and think I will seize this fork | | Bike Setup: | All Stock - Frame Tomac Custom Butted AN-6 aluminum Fork Manitou Mars Comp Coil Headset Cane Creek C2 Handlebar Tomac Aluminum flat bar Stem Tomac Aluminum Grips Black Krayton rubber Saddle Tomac cover / Chromoly rails Seat Post Tomac Aluminum Front Derailleur Shimano LX Rear Derailleur Shimano XT Shifters Shimano LX Rapidfire Cranks Race Face Prodigy XC Bottom Bracket ISIS splined Cassette Shimano LX Chain Shimano HG - 73 Brakes Avid Single Digit 7 Levers Avid Speed Dial 5 Front Hub Shimano LX Rear Hub Shimano LX Rims Sun / Tomac Mach 4 Spokes DT Swiss Champion-black Nipples DT Pro Lock aluminum Tires IRC Mythos XC Semi-Slick

$1600.00 | | Purchased At: | Spinz Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Strengths are: very stiff frame, love the shock and has all the travel that a cross country rider or a racer needs. Another good thing about the tomac buck shot pro is the look, and not only does it look fast it is fast.I have been around the sport of mountian biking for along time and I feel that this bike is a climbing machine amd climbing is what it is all about,on a scale of 1 to 10 I give the buck shot pro a 10 with out a doubt. | | Weaknesses: | I can not think of any weaknesses, this is a very cool bike and is made by one of the kings of mountian bikers. | | Similar Products Used: | Well i have been riding a Gary Fisher and it is not a bad bike it is actually a very good bike and has taken one more beating from me. I think that the buck shot pro can take the same amount of punishment or more. | | Bike Setup: | The bike is set up for a cross country rider or racer. This bike is a shocking twenty three pounds and the componets are awesome, from the XTR derailer to the Race Face crank. The Avid braking system will stop you on a dime. It also is set up a little longer than other mountian bikes and I like this idea for more control. | | Bottom Line: | The bottom line is that this bike is awesome and has all the latest and greatest components and is super light and fast.

$1500.00 | | Purchased At: | the bike farm | | Strengths: | Light and so stiff. Great frame design, one of the stiffest hard tails I have ridden. 23lbs out of the box | | Weaknesses: | Price, but not that bad. Hey it is a tomac what do you expect, same frame as there pro bike, tires, alittle too slick for racing I think, need more directional tread up front. | | Similar Products Used: | trek 7000, doesn't even compare | | Bike Setup: | Stock, lx/xt,avid,mars coil, rest is tomac stuff, race face cranks | | Bottom Line: | I think a great price from a great manufactuer of bikes. Good componet mix. Really stiff frame and very light out of box. I am going to race on it this season, I can already tell how stiff it is just by riding it on the road. It climbs like a road bike and I can't wait to hit the trails with it. The mars seems a bit stiff, but it is light and good for xc riding. I would recommend it to anyone, might be a bit much for a rec rider but if you have the money go for it. One of the best hard tails I have ever ridden. Go to tomac.com and check out his bikes, well worth the look. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
