    Favorite Trail:hard guy/fast guy
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $899.00
    Purchased At:colorado cyclist
Strengths:very rigid, nice components for price, very responsive, is a great climber, and is awesome downhill.
Weaknesses:wish it had front disc breaks, seatpost is 31.6 wich makes you have trouble finding replacments. The seat post bent on me, and i'm only 180 lbs. Also a weld broke on the seat stay and had to send it in for warranty. Mountain slick tires sucked. had a lot of traction problems. put z max tires on and problem solved.
Similar Products Used:Gary Fisher Tassahara, Rocky Mountain Elevation. Klein Attitude. Trek 4500
Bike Setup:stock. lx,xt. ritchy z max tires. New handle grips
Bottom Line:I have riddin this bike extremly hard on trail and the road for almost a year. It did not let me down until the seat post broke and and the weld on the frame seat stay broke. Frame is nice, and the demensions are good. All components have lasted great, I clean and oil the drive system often, and grease the shock now and then. It still shifts and rides almost like new. I really have enjoyed this bike, and recomend it to hard tail riders. I'm only rating it a 4 on overall, cause of the seat post and weld problem.

Weaknesses:Manitou Mars fork - I think this may be better suited for lighter riders - I'm 6-3, 200 lbs. and think I will seize this fork

    Date Reviewed: November 16, 2002
    Favorite Trail:Hobby Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $1600.00
    Purchased At:Spinz Bike Shop
Strengths:Strengths are: very stiff frame, love the shock and has all the travel that a cross country rider or a racer needs.
Another good thing about the tomac buck shot pro is the look, and not only does it look fast it is fast.I have been around the sport of mountian biking for along time and I feel that this bike is a climbing machine amd climbing is what it is all about,on a scale of 1 to 10 I give the buck shot pro a 10 with out a doubt.
Weaknesses:I can not think of any weaknesses, this is a very cool bike and is made by one of the kings of mountian bikers.
Similar Products Used:Well i have been riding a Gary Fisher and it is not a bad bike it is actually a very good bike and has taken one more beating from me. I think that the buck shot pro can take the same amount of punishment or more.
Bike Setup:The bike is set up for a cross country rider or racer. This bike is a shocking twenty three pounds and the componets are awesome, from the XTR derailer to the Race Face crank. The Avid braking system will stop you on a dime. It also is set up a little longer than other mountian bikes and I like this idea for more control.
Bottom Line:The bottom line is that this bike is awesome and has all the latest and greatest components and is super light and fast.

    Date Reviewed: February 17, 2002
    Favorite Trail:anything fast
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $1500.00
    Purchased At:the bike farm
Strengths:Light and so stiff. Great frame design, one of the stiffest hard tails I have ridden. 23lbs out of the box
Weaknesses:Price, but not that bad. Hey it is a tomac what do you expect, same frame as there pro bike, tires, alittle too slick for racing I think, need more directional tread up front.
    Similar Products Used:trek 7000, doesn't even compare
Bike Setup:Stock, lx/xt,avid,mars coil, rest is tomac stuff, race face cranks
Bottom Line:I think a great price from a great manufactuer of bikes. Good componet mix. Really stiff frame and very light out of box. I am going to race on it this season, I can already tell how stiff it is just by riding it on the road. It climbs like a road bike and I can't wait to hit the trails with it. The mars seems a bit stiff, but it is light and good for xc riding. I would recommend it to anyone, might be a bit much for a rec rider but if you have the money go for it. One of the best hard tails I have ever ridden. Go to tomac.com and check out his bikes, well worth the look.
