Submitted by Matt a Weekend Warrior from Ottawa, Ontario
    Date Reviewed: November 11, 2005
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Purchased At:Full Cycle Ottawa
Strengths:-Looks good, good traction for very light off road terrain, wears well
Weaknesses:- Poor traction in anything other then mild off-road conditions, price
Similar Products Used:Many many many. Tioga, Kenda, Maxxxis, Bontrager, WTB, Panaracer .... you name it.
Bike Setup:'03 Yukon w/ some mods
'99 Trek 800 (what these tires were riden on)
Bottom Line:There is something about Tioga's and cheap sidewalls, very flimsy and thin. This one isn't so bad, but overall I would just stay away from Tioga. These have been good tires but there are better ones out there.

Strengths:Good all around tire. Seem to do well in all conditions. Did great in the mud for me. After 100 miles, show no wear.
Weaknesses:A bit loose in the turns
Similar Products Used:some bontragers and michilens
    Bike Setup:04 Kona Kikapu
Bottom Line:have been great tires for me, good in mud and sand. Slid some in loose over hardpack. All in all great tires

    Date Reviewed: August 4, 2004
Favorite Trail:Madrone Trail on Canyon Lake
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Purchased At:OEM
Strengths:Have lasted a very long time thru a lot of rough riding, have only had 1 flat and that was my fault for not dodging the cactus. Fairly good hold on rocky and hardpack.
Weaknesses:Doesn't hold track worth diddly squat in loose conditions. Cornering is scary at speed on these tires. Get really slick in the mud, but they do shed it fairly well.
    Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:02 Kona Blast, original except for the Shimano M440 crankset and Eggbeaters
Bottom Line:Good tire if you live in the desert and don't ride on anything but hardpack or rock, can climb fairly well. Absolutely NOT the tire for tight twisty trails, do NOT inspire a great deal of confidence when cornering. Actually writing this review as I'm reading other reviews for a good XC Tire. Giving 5 Chili's since they've lasted so long and were OEM on my bick, but overall only a 3 since they loose traction so often

    Date Reviewed: April 26, 2004
    Favorite Trail:Bluff Point
    Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Lightweight, easy to change tubes when you get a flat.
Weaknesses:Lightweight, easy to change tubes when you get a flat, which has been twice in one week. The thin sidewall has been the problem. Both flats were due to something going through the sidewall.
    Similar Products Used:Kenda Enduro
    Bike Setup:Stock 2004 Kona Kikapu
Bottom Line:OK tire, but just seems to easy to get flats on. I've been on the same trails with other tires and never had a flat, but 2 times in one week with these tires. They look cool with the green lettering, but just don't hold up as well as others. Think it's time to upgrade to a better, wider tire.

Strengths:i didn't know there were any...
    Weaknesses:there isnt enough space here...
    Similar Products Used:kenda klaw xt
Bike Setup:kona kahuna, azonic bars, stem, seat, wheels, avid discs, evil ghainguide
Bottom Line:dont buy these. you might as well put slicks on and go for a ride in the mud. no traction, developed this huge bulge in the sidewall, no traction. i guess if you enjoy slipping and spinning if there is any moisture on the trail, you should buy these. otherwise, buy kenda klaws, cheap as dirt, and have never given me any trouble.

Submitted by Eric a Cross Country Rider from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
    Date Reviewed: June 25, 2003
    Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Corners very well, excellent climbing tire, sheds mud instantly: works well in mud and sand, traction is awesome in all conditions... Very good in wet conditions... rolling resistance is low, doesn't slow you down too much.
Weaknesses:thin side walls, can fold over if bad landing... wears fast... thin side walls make tire unstable on wheel, there's lateral play (makes steering kind of wonky)
    Bike Setup:Kona blast
Bottom Line:this is a nice starting tire... its lightish, it handles corners very well... Keep it inflated higher than you'd usually put your tires, Maybe an extra 10 PSI. eventually it will wear out and you will need new tires - get other ones, the sidewalls are thin and flimsy... traction seems soft and mushy... get something with stronger sidewalls, it'll make the tires more laterally rigid and provide better traction in highspeed/downhill situations.

Front, not good on loose stuff but average roller, traction is limited and doesnt warn you before it slips
