from Germany Date Reviewed: August 25, 2008 | | Favorite Trail: | eastern westphalia, Eggegebirge | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Polished and durable finish, great flange design, grease guard, i stiil think it´s one of the nicest looking and crafted hubs out there. | | Weaknesses: | none, if you own a grease pistol | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano XT II, Hügi and others from the MTB era of 1990 to 1995 | | Bike Setup: | 92 Specialized Rock Hopper Suntour XC Pro only | | Bottom Line: | Nearly unbreakable, never experienced problems with broken spokes (even on the rear hub), on the front hub i still drive my 1993 original 6001 ball (cartridge) bearing set. If you can get one, get it! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Fresno,Ca Date Reviewed: November 17, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Last over 8 years of hard riding. | | Weaknesses: | None! | | Similar Products Used: | XT,LX and some others. | | Bottom Line: | I had these hubs for well over 8 years and over 10,000 miles on them. Had to change bearings once but that is it, Never had to adjust them or anything else. Now I bought a Single Speed frame and converted the rear hub, I figure I get another 8 years out of them at least! As some else has stated, I can not understand how Suntour could not compete with shimano! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Gloucester Date Reviewed: May 24, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | All North Shore | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Finish, Easy Adjustability, Maintenance, Strength | | Weaknesses: | Absolutely none | | Similar Products Used: | Almost any hub you can think of | | Bike Setup: | Santa Cruz Bullit with misc. Parts Front hub originally came on Paramount 90 | | Bottom Line: | This is the greatest hubset ever bar none. There is nothing you could improve on the design. I pity people who dont have this miracle of a front hub. If you can get your hands on any of these around do it. In the seven years I have owned this hub I have adjusted it twice and replaced the bearings once. The greaseguard system and cold forged cups and races are superior to all hubs I have ever seen. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Glasgow, Scotland, UK Date Reviewed: February 24, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | Loch Fyne/Loch Awe | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Grease-guard, finish, longevity | | Weaknesses: | Minimal sealing | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano XT | | Bike Setup: | Specialised Stumpjumper Team/SunTour XC Pro | | Bottom Line: | This hub came as part of the original XC Pro group and with only one change of bearings has lasted through all weather and been raced, toured, commuted for nearly ten years. With the availability of industry standard bearings should last another ten. If you can find one buy it. Great for wet weather or winter use. In fact, great for all round use. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
