an awesome shifter but it need to be a bit more stiff. Other than that i like it more than any trigger shifter i've used because i find it easier to switch gears. and it also looks awsome

Bottom Line:
I got these shifters when I replaced my drive train from Shimano Alivio/Acera to XT. Shifting is better and holds adjustment longer. I like the fact that I can still brake while shifting to set up the next turn/hill and have most of my fingers gripping the bar (a safety plus). The best thing is I'm able to trim the front derailer to avoid chain rub. Don't get me wrong, shifting will skip every now and then, but that could just be from the 1:2 Shimano cable shifting pull.

I wanted to try Grip Shifters for some time. When I purchased the Attacks I was actually shopping for Rockets. My favorite shop didn’t have any in stock at the time so they offered a set of Attacks and said I could return them if I didn’t like them. They turned out to be a great bang for the buck. They shift great. They have a good year of use and have been very reliable. Good quality and value.

Bottom Line:
I had a hard time finding 8-speed shimano shifters to replace the one that broke, so I decided to give these a try since they are shimano compatible. Installation was fairly easy and integrated well with my existed shimano xt shifter/brake lever. It took a couple rides and adjustments to "break-in" the shifter and cables to where all eight gears would lock correctly. Now it works great and I am very happy with it. It took a while to get used to the grip-shift vs. rapid-fire, but the mechanism is simpler so less likely to break. The only drawback is that when the shifter gets covered in mud, it gets too slippery to shift, esp. into lower gear (rear). But at $35, it was a lot less than the shimano. I give it 4 chilis due to the cheap looking construction.
