    Date Reviewed: April 25, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:it came with my bike
Strengths:1. It doesn't bottom out too easily when u crank up the preload.
    2. It doesn't have any damping stuff to blow or any oil to leak, lol.
    3. It's pretty sturdy.
Weaknesses:1. It's hella stiff so it doesn't absorb ANY small bumps at all. (It doesn't really absorb big ones either but at least it moves with big ones, lol)
    2. No options for different springs.
    3. The preload adjuster takes like 100 turns, so u get tendinitis from adjusting it.
    4. The caliper mount is too far up so there is about 1/4 of an inch of the rotor that isn't getting used, which results in decreased braking power.
    5. No cable housing for the disc brake cable.
    6. It wasn't even supposed to come with my bike!
    Bike Setup:2007 KHS XC-004.
Bottom Line:It does pretty much nothing to make the ride smoother, but since it doesn't have any damping hardware, it will last forever.

    Favorite Trail:None
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Purchased At:Sports Chalet
    Strengths:None
Weaknesses:This is a very stiff fork. You have to really jump on it for any results. Unfortunetely, I got the one defective item at the Sports Chalet in Vacaville, CA. Horribly designed, knock-off of a preloader. Also, the paint on the part that goes up and down, excuse my lack of inteligiance, starts to fade off within the first day of use

Bottom Line:It came stock with an '07 Marin Bobcat Trail. All-in-all, frankly, pathetic.

Submitted by Alfredo a Weekend Warrior from Saltillo, MEXICO
    Date Reviewed: November 12, 2007
    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Not meant to serious off-ride use.
Weaknesses:I can't bottom it out, it doesn't serve for hard off-road use, don't work as a suspension, the handlebars vibrate and I end up with sore fingers. Very hard springs
Similar Products Used:Cheap forks in former bikes I used to own. Cheap Benotto fork, Fiamme AXT
Bike Setup:Stock 07 Giant Boulder SE. Replaced the platform pedals to Shimano 520's, CatEye Enduro 8.
Bottom Line:Crap fork. I used my bike to enter a 100km race, and it was very though, this fork is only meant to be used on tarmac/light off-road use but nothing serious. I'm saving to buy an Anthem 1, I never really though about the huge different between 'Sport' bikes category, and the Competition, in relation to the quality of the components.
I live in a zone where there are lots of loose rocks, I would really appreciate owning a full suspension bike.

This fork only serves you well if you're not going to do any serious off-road stuff.
The rating is based comparing it to higher forks

Strengths:Half decent light trail riding and xc fork.
Weaknesses:Tops out when pulling the handlebars up, can't take jumps or drops. Bottoms out on 4ft plus jumps or drops
    Bike Setup:Scwhinn Blackline
Bottom Line:This is not a fork for jumps, it is meant for light trail riding and cross country.
