    Date Reviewed: August 1, 2004
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $35.00
    Purchased At:direct
Strengths:Rolls well, grips on hard pack and moderately loose dirt. Runs well on roads and trails. Mounts easier than many UST tires, and holds air well. Very light.
Weaknesses:This is a soft race tire, so don't expect long wearing tread. It will wear fast if you slip a lot on rocks and might tear lugs on hard braking on pavement. (Mine have been fine for the last few months, and looks like they will last at least another 4-6 months.)
Similar Products Used:Michelin Comp S Light UST, Hutchinson Pyton Light (tube type)
Bike Setup:Iron Horse Hollowpoint with Mavic UST rims.
Bottom Line:Better than the Pythons, but about equal to the Comp S lights. However, they do have better traction than the Comp S Lights, and seem more durable as well. For $35 a tire, they are a good buy, and work well for general XC riding. They might be old tech, but they still work. Very light, and would be ideal for racing. Not a rock tire (the side walls are thin).

Similar Products Used:Schwalbe "Fast Fred", Hutchinson"Python"
