$35.00 | | Purchased At: | direct | | Strengths: | Rolls well, grips on hard pack and moderately loose dirt. Runs well on roads and trails. Mounts easier than many UST tires, and holds air well. Very light. | | Weaknesses: | This is a soft race tire, so don't expect long wearing tread. It will wear fast if you slip a lot on rocks and might tear lugs on hard braking on pavement. (Mine have been fine for the last few months, and looks like they will last at least another 4-6 months.) | | Similar Products Used: | Michelin Comp S Light UST, Hutchinson Pyton Light (tube type) | | Bike Setup: | Iron Horse Hollowpoint with Mavic UST rims. | | Bottom Line: | Better than the Pythons, but about equal to the Comp S lights. However, they do have better traction than the Comp S Lights, and seem more durable as well. For $35 a tire, they are a good buy, and work well for general XC riding.
