Strengths:
frame does not break or bend, fork is solid, too. good street geo, no need to fear that this 3,1kg frame breaks.
Weaknesses:
the rest (except frame, stem and fork) is to replace. bar bends, bottom bracket cups break, wheels were brokt in 1 week.
too heavy.
Similar Products Used:
dmr trailstar, on-one the gimp, revell 250r, several bmx and some freeride-fullsusp.
the frame and the most of the parts are the same same as the p.1. if you are a beginner and do not ride hard, this is a good match. but as soon as you cn do something with your bike, look for something else and do not buy this, although it is cheap, it is not the best choice. better invest in a more expensive bike than having repairs all the time.
still it is a good bike which you can use in several riding styles, you an even put 2.5 highrollers on and go freeriding.

Strengths:
Frame strength and geometry are superb and lend confidence to your riding. Excellent tires. Excellent feeling brakes once set up correctly, so no whining if you don't know how to fine tune brakes. Bunnyhop this thing for a week or two and your biceps and triceps will have some new meaty geometry and frame strength as well, which will lend confidence to your game with the honeys.
Weaknesses:
Rims are totally disposable. One moderate drop off and my rear went wacky, but then again allowed me to learn how to true a wheel, which has to be learned anyway. And I suppose Specialized knew that the rear is going to get bent regardless so it's good to know I'm practicing on cheaper rims that I'll ultimately want to replace anyway. Better to wack out the cheap rims first. Having a problem with the Marzocchi DJ3, already clonking and vibrating while braking, but this can be fixed. Just another future upgrade once it's performance limits my own. Mostly just annoying (I want my bike to be PERFECT!!!) Right everybody? ;)

Bike Setup:
Stock, with baseball cards in the spokes.
Bottom Line:
It's the P2! In steel! It is THE attack bike. Get to know how to ride this bike well and you'll be able to ride anything well, including your girlfriend. You get to learn physics while riding this bike.
It's also very, very, good looking. Get used to feeling paranoid in your neighborhood and locking your doors tight- everyone will stare with hungry eyes at your P2 chromo in Orange/White. If you really want to ride and ride well then you'll accept that there will be more investment in components over time. No bike or component is indestructible, but this frame feels like it is. Once it doesn't it's because you have advanced in skill and it's time to strengthen up components. Straight off the showroom floor, this is a mean bike, it will teach you well and you'll love it continually if you love it the first time you see it. Maybe it is about 100 - 200 bucks more expensive than it "should" be, compared to other bikes, but that extra 100 or 200 bucks is for the extra "something" that IS the P2.

Strengths:
Amazing Frame, Great Geometry, Good Cockpit (bars, stem, grips, seat) Not too heavy. SS
Weaknesses:
WHEELS!!! these Wheels are the worst wheels ever! bent the front rim the first time out. the rear wheel needs a hub overhaul after 3 months! The Front wheel has a bent rim. Whoever built these wheels needs to be shot. the spokes are the SAME LENGTH!!! for a front disc wheel this is the worst mistake ever.

Bike Setup:
BB7 front brakes, soon to be BombShell CRUSHER wheels(48 spoke, triple wall, WOOT) Primo Super Tenderizer pedals, otherwise stock.
Bottom Line:
This is a reveiw for the 2008 P.1. Replace the wheels, and the pedals when they wear out, and this bike is a perfect do it all bike. It can be run XC, DH, FR, Park, and definitely home on the DJ. I would also grab some Chain tensioners, such as a surly tugnutt. The BMX spec on the cranks is nice, allowing for a potential microdrive setup. umm...I would definitely replace the wheels, and if you have some extra cash, a new fork. Other than that a great bike and a good way to get into DJ or anything that requires a solid bike.
