These cranks make more noise than a cricket on a late, hot summer night. With each hard press they creak and they have a lot of flex. The small chain ring had to be replaced after 1 month of use. Junk.

I dunno what's up w/specialized cranks but i managed to snap on dropping off a 3 inch curb on my stumpy. I really think they have a q/c problem at the factory since the only reason i could think this would happen if the material got containimated during casting? maybe? i dunno but totally bogus to blow up in that fashion, and a good reason to get something else on your bike b4 u leave the shop.

Bottom Line:
The left side crank flexed into the frame (superlight), and damaged the swingarm. I cannot recommend any product that doesnt stand up to a simple tip-over. Dont put kia on a ferrari. Street people probably wont have a problem, anyone who really rides look elsewhere for a crank.

Bottom Line:
I have no complaints with theses cranks. They have zero bling-bling factor, but how cares. They are relatively light and work well for my 150 lbs ass.
I have changed frames over three times this year, from hardtail to XC dualie to FR dualie. These same set of cranks have gone on each frame because they just work. No frills, just excellent mechanics.

They bend easily. I went out on a ride, and they worked loose (crank bolt not thread locked), tightened them. Went home, threadlocked them, went out, bent them. They are rubbish

Strengths:
Somewhat light, Improved strength to the "Weak Arm 2" have yet to break a tooth off, Arms are stong see below why they have to be.
Weaknesses:
Bends way too easy I've used these for about a month and I already had to have the middle chain ring retrued. Arms are way to long I keep slaming them off rocks and stumps.

I got these as a warrenty exchange when my frame decided it no longer liked the strong arm 2's anymore. Well so far I have had to true the MIDDLE ring already. How do you bend a middle ring inside of a week?!?! These cranks are way to flexy and I hope very soon to uprage to either Raceface XT or XTR. I like a stiffer crank than these. I guess they will do for now but anyone who's looking to unload a set of XT or XTR's e-mail me and let me know these things aren't going to last long the way they bounce off rocks because the arms are too long or the way it's too easy to bend a chainring. Don't buy these if you get em on a warrenty exchange they are way better than the strongarm 2's but not worth buying. Spend your money on a set of Raceface's or Truvati's or even some Shimano's. I'll give em a decent rating due o the fact that they we're an upgrade to the stock crank from Specialized but they need to stop building they're own componets and start using the good stuff like they do on complete S-Works bikes and stop putting this trash on the bikes us normal people who work 9 to 5 can afford PEACE!
