    Favorite Trail:Sope Creek
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $360.00
    Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Bombproof frame and good components! I enjoy the ride and this bike can do all types of trails except extreme downhill. Great rear Rock Shox Deluxe shock. It is smooth, but can handle my weight of 250lbs. Great components (LX all around) that hold up great for a weekend warrior who just wants to jump and ride hard!
Weaknesses:Manitou Spyder front fork is terrible. I don't expect a Marzocchi or Sid on this price level of a bike, but a low end Rock Shox would have been a better choice. This front fork cannot handle anyone over 150lbs. I will upgrade soon once I get some $$$!
Similar Products Used:Only other bike was a Diamondback Outlook (had it for 7 years).
Bike Setup:Stock except for new Specialized Body Geometry Pro Ti saddle, Kona grips, Profile Yellow bar ends, New Specialized Strongarms II crankset, Odyssey clipless/platform red pedals.
Bottom Line:Incredible Full Suspension! Great intermediate bike! Bombproof! Whoever complains about where the water cage is located also complains about the mud that I splash on them as I burn past them on my FSR!!!

Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $750.00
Purchased At:Great Divide Cyclery Helena MT
Strengths:Great Bike! Awesome handling. Push it hard, it just makes you want to go faster! I prefer stiffer front suspension. It reminds me of my old cr125 on downhills.
Weaknesses:A little heavy(30-31 lbs). Can feel it on uphills.
Similar Products Used:Ridden Gary Fisher Joshua, Trek Y Bikes, Mongoose hardtail.
Bike Setup:Stock. rear hub went out. Put in an deore lx.
Bottom Line:Great bike. Great price. Can't beat specialized fsr's.

Submitted by Luis a Weekend Warrior from San Diego, CA
    Date Reviewed: October 19, 1999
    Duration Product Used:
    3 months
    Strengths:
Seems to me it offers a lot of bike for the price.
    Weaknesses:
Front suspension does not seem to handle my 230 lbs, not sure if one will.
    Similar Products Used:
    TREK
    Bike Setup:
Only change I've made is add clipless pedals (shimano).
Bottom Line:Have not owned a Mountain Bike before, but I've been reading a lot of articles about inexpensive bikes ($700 is not really inexpensive), and makes me feel I made the right choice.
