Duration Product Used:
More than 3 years
Strengths:
Durability. In the 3 years I've owned a Hard Rock Classic, I've logged in 9000 miles, and it's still running strong.
Weaknesses:
Only thing that I don't really care for is the fact that the rear-brake cable runs underneath the crossbar, so the cable tends to cut into your shoulder if you have to carry the bike.
Bike Setup:
Purchased with stock equipment (except for pedals, using Bear-trap instead).
Bottom Line:
As a bicycle commuter, the miles really add up, but my Hard-Rock Classic takes them in stride. :) Equipment break-downs/wear-outs are few and far between.
After about 7000 miles, the original saddle wore out (the plastic supporting the springs in the back finally cracked and broke off).
The original brake pads lasted to about 7500 miles. :)
After the 8000 mile mark, the original tires (Crossroads 3 semi-slick) had to go...Ran over a steel spike and ripped a hole in the sidewall. If it weren't for that, they could have easily lasted another 2-3000 miles. ;)
Now at 9000 miles, the original chainrings and cogs are looking worn, so it's finally about time to get those replaced.
With a shiney-new drive train, I'll be looking forward to my next 9000 miles. :)

Strengths:
Price, features
Weaknesses:
None so far
Bike Setup:
Stock with Manitou from shock
Bottom Line:
My girlfriend and I each bought one last January to get back into cycling. After a few rides, I added Manitou 98 front shocks to each (from Supergo at $99 each). Now we are both very happen and have decent bikes for a good price. Darn comfortable with the suspension seat, easy to work on, and I'm not afraid to ride it-it is sturdy!!

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:
added toe-clips
Bottom Line:
I really love this bike, I rode it several hundred miles last summer, basically whenever I could get away and ride. Other than the sprockets, which look unbelieveably cheap and shift a little rough if you hit one of the ugly teeth, everything on the bike looks and works great. I hope to be commuting on this bike when it warms up.

Bottom Line:
My wife and I purchased the bikes to get riding again, and found the bikes perfect for the bike paths and easy-terrain trails near here. The bike is very adjustable, light, and a good value ($254 from Bike Tech in Miami). We both prefer the more erect riding position compared to other bikes, and the ride is very comfortable. Overall, an excellent bike for the money.

Bottom Line:
What a great bike for a female companion that is not into speed or technical terrain. I bought this bike based on a great reference from a local bike shop employee. The bike is extremely comfortable due to its adjustable stem, suspension seat post, wide padded seat, and spring supported seat carriage. Allthis a still relatively light. Thanks Specialized for helping me to get my wife riding and thank you Mark.
