$1500.00 | | Purchased At: | Revolution Cycle | | Strengths: | Best value for the dollar.Sealed bearrings.Great paint job. | | Weaknesses: | Pric Could be lighter (29 pounds with disk brakes). Skimpy tires. Painfull BG seat
| | Similar Products Used: | Rocky Mountain Spice. 99 Stumpjumper FSR | | Bike Setup: | Hayes disks ,Specialized disk hubs,Mavic 317rims, koski fastback seat & Panaracer fire XC tires. | | Bottom Line: | I love this bike.It climbs seated or standing.(The simpler suspension on my 99 forced me to stay seated) Decending even the steepest hills is a breeze. The Time pedals work great in our 'gumbo' mud. The Judy fork looks cheap on a bike at this price but performes great. It flexes a bit more than expected & is a pound heavier than a SID but it is so smooth I could not justify upgrading it. The true 4 bar suspension is not affected by hard braking like the modified 4 bar Rocky uses. I can't comment on jumping ability. I like both wheels on the ground. The shifting on the front is a little slow. The Hayes brakes work flawlesly in any conditions & make rim brakes feel like they just don't work. If you don't mind the big S on so many of the components this is a great bike. After riding this bike for a season I bought my wife the same bike. The year end discount just made it that much sweeter. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
