$1200.00 | | Purchased At: | Westside Cycling and Fitness | | Strengths: | Plush ride; Great bike for a beginner. | | Weaknesses: | Front shock leaks; definitely put on disc brakes and new grips; the seat was a little wide for me | | Similar Products Used: | Giant NRS; Specialized Rockhopper Men's | | Bike Setup: | Schimano disc breaks; Odi lock-on grips; Terry butterfly seat; Schimano M45 pedals; Stan's no-tubes sealant (I run tubes and have had numerous gopher heads. This stuff seals a flat quicker than a fat kid to hostess twinkies!) | | Bottom Line: | I love this bike! This is my first mountain bike, and it has really delivered. It climbs great and can handle some pretty technical downhill sections. With a few quick, easy, and cheap upgrades this bike is perfect for someone wanting to do some great trail riding. However, don't buy this bike if you are looking to do some serious downhilling. The disc brakes and lock on grips are a must (I paid $200 up front for the brakes and I love them). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
