Strengths:Beefy. Looks great. The stock setup works well. I'm suprised at how well the MX1 brakes work. There's loads of stopping power. I haven't had to adjust anything on the bike after the first ride. The tires are grippy, and huge.
Weaknesses:ummm...Beefy. It's heavy, so stay away from uphills. I haven't weighed it but I've bulked up just from loading it for trips. The front fork (Mozo X5.5S) kinda sucks but I have no fear of breaking it in half. The rear shock is still working but needs to be replaced.

X-Fusion Glyde Super shock
Truvativ Hussefelt Crank

Bottom Line:I got it for a good price since it was hardly used. It was a good purchase. If you ride this thing you will sweat. It's heavy but I've felt in total control at all times but deep sand. It needs some protection cause I keep bashing the big ring on stuff. The shock and fork are ok.

Price Paid: $950.00
Purchased At:Bicycle Centre
Strengths:The frame is sturdy, mostly has good components. extremely good bike for making it into a beast. after you have upgraded a couple parts the bike is amazing!
Weaknesses:The fork is horrible, in the first month the fork's seals were blown and the rebound adjustment on it hardly works. The rear shock is way too weak I can bottom it out off small drops and i only weigh 130 lbs. Also the pedals and the grips are crap because they are stock. The parts i ended up replacing; fork, rear shock, grips, and pedals.
Similar Products Used:Santa Cruz bullit

Bottom Line:This bike is great for beginners but even better to build on. It is amazing for the price you would expect, but if you want it to be a beast you better be ready to spend some cash.

Strengths:great frame, brakes, rims, wheels. everything but the back coil spring love the rebound because if you have a hard spring you can make it so that you dont get throne off and fly in the air over your handle bars.
Weaknesses:the rear shock because the coil spring isn't hard enough. Other wise it is the bomb.

Bottom Line:This is the best bike that I have tryed out it is great a downhilling and great a freerideing have done big drops to flat like 8-9feet because I had to much speed and I missed the landing and after I put the bigger spring I havent bottomed out yet so if your on a budget get this bike or if you have the money but you dont want to buy the 2000+ bikes because you want to see if you like this stuff get this bike you wont be able to beat this bike up. But it might beat you up. After a month of testing I will get back to wright another reviewand have this one removed about this bike and if it holds up to drops off of roofs and other stuff so if you can get this bike get it because it is better than some 2000+ bike out there.

Price Paid: $780.00
Purchased At:Mi Bici
Strengths:Great freeride bike. Very good tires, rims, cranks, headset. The frame and fork are undestructable. The brakes are good and do the job and never desappoint you. The fork and shock works well for me (I am a 155 lb. rider) and really can support big hits (big for me, 6.0 ft) and very hard punishment, on the landings you will feel like nothingh but a soft and confident contact with the ground. It is a bike that can be ride and climb small mountains but just for reach the top and enjoy at maximum when you begin your downhill and jumping seasson.
Weaknesses:First, the Saddle (Seat), this is the first change you must do, it is really hard and uncomfortable. Second, The bike is a little bit heavy but you can get used to if you mind yourself that weight means strenght and that you are riding a freeride bike. Third, the BB height is a little bit short, so if you dont watch out you can hit the ground with the pedals on some obstacles over very tight roads (but nothigh to worry about).
Bike Setup:Crankbrohters pedals.
Bottom Line:This bike should be bough by anyone who wants to begin the freeride and downhill style. Its price is very good and it is worth. You can not get another bike like this for the same price. I agree that the components can be upgraded, but if you want to begin into this style, this is the bike for you. When your budget allows you, you can upgrade this bike and transform it in a expert-profesional bike, but until that moment, ride hard, jump high.

Strengths:Some Ok components, the Rims, bars and stem, cranks, pedals, deraileur's ok even though i snapped mine.
Weaknesses:Lots, my whole back end of the bike is screwed up, the swingarm, my wheel (not the rim jsut the spokes, hub and tire) The Suspension is horrible, The mozo's aren't THAT bad, but they are pretty bad, i have bottomed them plenty. The shock is horrible as well (and thats tightened all the way), when i first got it i could bottom it off curbs, i ahve adjusted it a little but i can still bottom it over small jumps and REALLY small drops, were talking like 3 or 4 feet it bottoms, i have done bigger without it totally breaking though. About a week after i had it my deraileur got caught in the spokes while riding on the rode, bent some spokes, tore the chain apart, and mangled the deraileur. I have had lots of problems with this bike, another thing is that it makes many noises, from the frame flex, to the discs constant rub (not the bikes fault) The main reason why this bike sucks is because it is made in Taiwan! The seat sucks and rips really easy, plus i bent the seatpost and the thid ring takes NO abuse, it just bends. I also cut the deraileur cable, from a seperate insident. The bolts also fell out of the deraileur hanger and then the hanger bent. i also bent one of the pedals. The tread SUCKS for street, wears down anywhere actually. I bent my back rim on a dj but then got it trued.

Strengths:Alrighty, this is a follow up to my previous review.
Again, frame strength, and durability, last but not least PRICE.
Weaknesses:!@@#ing front fork. I bent off the rebound adjust hucking a 3ft drop off my front porch the 2nd week i had it, now it makes funny clicking noises, like the shocks body is separating from the innards...bottom line: abosolute crap fork.
Now, onto the rear disc brake. The swingarm pops out, and instead of just stopping you. Yes, this is so much fun, your 8" rotor will hit your swingarm, snap/bend the rotor to the point of uselessness, then lock the rear tire so you carreen out of control and nearly die.
Then you waste $60 and have the same thing happen again.
So before every ride, and at pauses in the trail after decent sized hucks, check your skewer to make sure its not coming out. It will save you.
2nd upgrade/downgrade: get 6 inch rotors.
Thirdly, the stock seat sucks ass.
3rd upgrade: new seat.
Fourthly: The rear shock is so soft if you are above 160 lbs, the fox coil will bottom out if you hit anything, so you need to buy the stiffer coil
4th upgrade: new coil.
Last problem: Weight.
But the thing is a tank, so it needs to weigh like one.
mine is 38.2 lbs. stock, THE FRONT FORK IS ROUGHLY TEN POUNDS. FIX THAT.
Similar Products Used:There arent too much that compares. Once you have the problems listed above fixed, the bike is insane. Only thig comparable is possibly the Intense Tazer, But nothing for the price.
Bike Setup:03 Big Hit, Stock except for 6in rotors, jr. T Or DJ1 (if i feel like it), Raceface bashguard, stiffer rear coil, Speed V WTB seat.
Bottom Line:Kickin' it bike for the money. Its alright for the novice freerider stock, but fix it up a bit, and it will be par with the best.
Remember to check skewer often, or you will die.

Strengths:The suspension on this bike really surprised me. I expected it to be low end stuff since the brand names aren't too popular, but so far it's been working great. The rear suspension really "flows" over the bumps in the road. It shifts perfectly. Many people I've talked have disliked Hayes Mech. Disc's, yet I'm on break in, and haven't heard a squeek once! They're completely silent.
Weaknesses:THe DH format was a little crammed for me at first (5'5" on a Short) but I got used to it and hang over the rear wheel when gliding down the hill.

Weaknesses:Wow, where do I begin. The Hayes Mech! brakes, wtf....mechanical disk brakes on a FR/DH bike, what is this world coming to. The front fork, I would be better off connecting the stem and wheel with sum kind of stick! The seat is like sitting on a thorn bush, and boy dont get me started on the rear suspention. Its basically like not having a shock there, you could remove the "shock" and put a pillow in its place and would feel the same. The crank.... you dont wanna know what happened there.

Price Paid: $840.00
Purchased At:Landrys
Strengths:This thing is a rock. Really strong, pretty decent components, can handle 2.5" tires, and anything you throw at it or drop off.
Weaknesses:HEAVY. But the price more than makes up for that. You get used to it, weight weenies: dont buy this.
The seat. Its like riding without one. (1st upgrade should be the seat, You'll thank me if you do)
Also the rear shock is really, REALLY soft. Even when its almost as tight as it goes, its really, REALLY soft. does have preload adjust though.
The last and final weakness is how scarce this bike is, but that just means its a great bike. I had to drive 430 miles to get mine, but it was worth it.
Similar Products Used:Nothing compares.
Bike Setup:stock except for WTB speed V seat
Bottom Line:This is and incredible deal for freeride/DH. Its so strong that this bike makes a great thing to build up on if you dont have $3000+ handy to fork over for a bike, but will steadily upgrade over time. The front fork tends to stick a bit, but i poured lube down seals, and it fixed that. Now it rebounds so well that when i hit a 3ft drop and landed on the front wheel it catapulted me over the handlebars and into a rosebush! The only downside is the weight, seat, and the pillow they call a rear shock. XC weight weenies should look elsewheres, but free riders who dont have the money upfront, or want a solid base for a sick bike should definatly consider this. 5/5

Strengths:Very strong. Excellent value. For the price it is a very good bike. The fork is plush but could have better rebound. The cranks have held together. Very strong for what it costs.
Weaknesses:Very heavy. Discs rub and the big 8-inchers can get in the way. Rear shock is weak, it is very soft and off big drops you can feel come close to bottoming. This is exemplified on heavy riders, I am very small and don't have to worry to much but if your a bigger person I would recommend immediatly replacing the rear shock. The rear shock also makes a loud slurping sound when taking hits.

Bottom Line:This bike is strong and is very good for the money. You can't get any comparable bikes for even close to that price. Some of the parts, however, are somewhat cheap, especially the rear shock. (I hope to replace it soon) Overall it is well worth it for the price. Even after replacing the rear shock the bike wont have cost me more than $1100, that's better then a lot of comparable bikes.

I'm plannig to buy a stiffer coil on the vanilla mine feel too soft , but i need more rides to convince myself. tires seem to be good even if they are the cheapest part of the package. but i'm use to ride panaracer dh, that cost 3 times the prices!!!! overall is the best deal on the planet right now.. i still don't understand why specialized ship it with these setup instead of the mozo and mechanical disk like you guys!!!

Bike Setup:stock exept for azonic love seat
Bottom Line:This bike is a beast. It's alot of fun to ride. Im used to riding moto-x so, my style of riding is kind of aggressive. This bike can withstand all of my punishment.I can do six foot drops with no problem with this bike.It also sticks like a magnet when going downhill and it corners well. It's not a great climber but, I can make it up hills with it. The seat that it came with made my ass raw the first time I rode it so I switched to a better one. Its not enough bike for a serious downhill racer. If you are into long fast trail rides with alot of uphills, spandex suits and eggbeater pedals this is the wrong bike for you. If your into jumping, droping off of walls, riding down steps, haul a##ing down hills at ski resorts and occasional trail rides you'll be the man with this bike.

Bottom Line:It's obvious—you can't beat this price point. $900 bucks lets you in on a whole lotta fun. Or maybe buy a Giro Switchblade and cool jersey and shorts so you look good when you're spittin' game at the lovely El Paso ladies. Already having a lot of fun jumping off the Mariachi Stage at the desolate Union Plaza District, bunny hopping orange traffic cones behind the Civic Center.
The bike is heavy. But on the plus side, if you climb mountains with it, it will build powerful tree-trunks of legs, which can be used to drop-kick the 137-lb cross-country racers who always beat your ass up the hills.
