    Favorite Trail:Santa Rosa
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $155.00
    Purchased At:Performance Bike
Strengths:Styling, Frame geometry, Mt. Baldy tires, and Color.
    Weaknesses:None Yet.
Similar Products Used:Trek Mt. Cub and Target Junk.
Bike Setup:Stock. Beware of the derailleur cable routing. Performance routed it poorly. Better to route the cable through the protector instead of around it. Thanks Mike.
Bottom Line:The style of this bike is ideal for young girls. It has a competitive look yet is very feminine. The components are stout and should last a long time. Quality is head and shoulders above the dept. store bikes. This is the coolest girls bike I have ever seen. My kid loves it. It is so cool my boy is even jealous. See ya Barbie.

    Date Reviewed: March 26, 2002
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $200.00
    Purchased At:Green Mountain Cycle shop
Strengths:Great components and color for a girl's bike
    Weaknesses:None
Bottom Line:I bought this bike for my daughter as her first 20" bike with gears and hand brakes. I also considered the Trek Mt Lion 60, Novara Dirt Rider, and Schwinn Speedster 2.0.
I got the Specialized since it seems to have great Shimano components, is well-built with a chome-moly frame. Mostly, though, I got it because it came in a great "girl's" color of hot pink with a pretty, spring-padded saddle and has a low slung frame to make getting on and off easy, yet it still is tough as nails with the same (or better) components than the other bikes I considered, at the same (or better) price.
