Strengths:beefy cranks, turns very nicely, its built like a tank, nice big sprocket for racing. super light weight cromoly
Weaknesses:bottom bracket problems. its made for a dirt track but you should get fat road tires if your a street rider. road tires reduce the rolling resistance.

Bottom Line:amazing bike, if you come across this bike i highley recommend you get it.

    Date Reviewed: May 18, 2006
    Favorite Trail:Tryon Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $280.00
    Purchased At:Towners Bike Shop
Strengths:Light, rigid, and well balanced. The rear brakes are superb stoppers. The cranks and the rest of the components are decent quality allowing the bike to be under 30lbs.
Weaknesses:No front brake. Bottom bracket makes noise sometimes.
Similar Products Used:2003 DK Dayton, 1984 & 1991 SE Racing PK Ripper.
Bike Setup:Installed front brake for tricks and stopping ability. Raised the seat all the way for cruising around town. Going to put street tires on it for less rolling resistance.
Bottom Line:OK, heres the deal. The bike is an entry level dirt racer. Skinny back tire, yes, who cares, its a soft compound and narrow tire for racing. You dont need a big fatty on the back for that, so stop complaining. No front brake? yeah, so what, its not designed for slowing down, its made for going fast.

I wanted a good strong light bike for jumping, riding and just plain screwing off. This bike is sweet for that. All the other trick bike are weighing in at about 38 lbs. Thats nuts. Give me a light weight race bike anyday. The BMX companys are shifting away from these designs and its sad.

If you can still find bikes like these, grab one, you'll be happy when you actually have to ride it.

Submitted by Ric a Racer from Mesa, AZ USA
    Date Reviewed: November 14, 2003
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $350.00
Strengths:Good looking. Durable except as noted below. Light weight for the price.
Weaknesses:Crank bearings. They are a piece of s......! And Specialized did not have replacements as my local bike shop does not. The support I've received to find replacements has been terrible!
Bike Setup:all OEM for entry level BMX racing.
Bottom Line:I'm an entry level BMX racer and this is a good entry level BMX bike. However, I will never buy another Specialized bike again (period). I am very disappointed in the OEM parts support. I shouldn't have to upgrade to some other manufacturer just to keep my bike going. It's just poor business practice.

Bottom Line:Over all I am really impressed with the bike, I don't think I could have made a better choice at the time.
