Favorite Trail:All the rideable ones...
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:TBE
Strengths:Comfort, adjustability, stiff sole, replacable sole system, ventilation, blingy looks...
Weaknesses:Sole may wear quickly. Occasionally awkward release of Tecno2 buckle.
Similar Products Used:Shimano
Bike Setup:Blingen uber 575
Bottom Line:First of all apologies as I mistakenly entered my review of this shoe on the page of the 'carbon' version; please remove if you like.
When it came time to replace my old Shimano trail shoes, I wanted something stiff and light. I tried the top offerings from Shimano, Specialized and North Wave but could find nothing that was comfortable.
LBS had some SIDI road shoes in my size and they felt great. Took a bit of a risk in ordering MTB shoes untried. Well it certainly paid off! These are just superb and feel like they were made for me. I could swear they have improved pedalling efficiency; my feet are held firmly in place with NO discomfort. The fact that they are so well vented is a real blessing in our HOT Australian summer.
I suggest every so often you check and tighten the screws on the soles and apply a little silicon lube to the buckles as suggested in the MANUAL; yes, some users have whined about loose screws etc...

Favorite Trail:Andersons
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $385.00
Strengths:Best fitting and most comfortable shoes I have ever used. Beautifully made.
Weaknesses:Soles wear quite rapidly, rubber too soft; can be replaced but this is expensive.
Similar Products Used:Pearl Izumi, Nike
Bike Setup:Ibis Mojo with Crank Brothers Eggbeaters
Bottom Line:Just take a look at a pair, the quality will win you. The Lorica material is tough, I scraped the side of my foot along a rough granite boulder at high speed and thought I had ripped off my little toe: the shoe just has a slight abrasion.

They are so comfortable you will be temped to use them as house slippers. Sole (non-carbon earlier model) is stiff under the foot but has good flex under the toes for walking. Buckle and rotary fishing line gizmo are great for getting the correct tension, and the idea of using a little ratchet under the velco forefoot strap is perfect.

I've had these for over 2 years and there is hardly any wear except the SRS soles.

Forget the cost and just enjoy the buzz of wearing them.

Date Reviewed: November 12, 2007
Favorite Trail:Just about anything
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $320.00
Purchased At:Loacal Dealer
Strengths:Failry good fit
Weaknesses:Mine blew up after about 20 rides. I have emailed the US distributer, Veltec and Sidi in Italy numerous times asking if there is anything I can do. A new pair would be nice, (though not likely). But they do not have the professionalism to even return emails. Not many choices out there, but I will not own a Sidi shoe again

Date Reviewed: May 11, 2007
Favorite Trail:Dr's Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $240.00
Purchased At:online
Strengths:insanely comfortable, light, replaceable sole components, infinitely adjustable, easy to adjust while on the fly, hot looks, synthetic leather feels better than an Italian Ferarri's leather seats
Weaknesses:price
Similar Products Used:Diadoras
Bike Setup:Maverick Durance/DUC32, Crank Bros Candy Ti pedals
Bottom Line:The Ferragamos of mountain biking shoes. Style, quality, and performance comes at a price. I managed to find them really cheap online, so I bought some for my birthday. My last pair of Diadoras lasted 5 hard-riding years, these look like they should last at least that long.
