Favorite Trail:
anything I can ride to
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Price Paid:
$50.00
Purchased At:
Funhogz
Strengths:
an affordable, sturdy option for those looking for a tough hubset but are cursed with 10mm front axels only this is by far one of the best bargains out there. designed to take abuse just the saints without the price tag, pair it with Mammoth hoops and pound away with some reckless abandon.
Weaknesses:
when you get into the upgrade game on older bikes nothing ever bolts on the same way anymore, and the Center-Lock Hone hubs are no different. It's total balls to have to replace perfectly good rotors with C-L's taking some of the bargian out of the price... Then again, who doesn't like new rotors?
also the plasitc end cap should come in aluminum, the plastic feels cheap

Bike Setup:
2003 Brodie Bruzza 17" Marz DJIII's Hone hubset Mammoth hoops Maxxis Minion 2.35 F&R with freeride tubes Lotsa burly goodies to set up a 17" for a big guy
Bottom Line:
If you want something that will stand up to a good beating, keep rolling smooth and leave your wallet intact, the Hone hubset won't let you down. You'd be hard pressed to come up with a stronger 10mm quick release and still never come close to the price. I ride a HT at 190lbs and can do no damage to this setup.
Saying that...Somebody is going to come in here and be an absolute gear-gremlin and complain about how they destroyed these things on the first ride going over a pillow...it's BS they're near grenade-proof --Not 25ft drop proof
