from Burlington, Ontario, Canada Date Reviewed: January 1, 2009 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Weaknesses: | I put about 10,000km (6,000 mi) on the hub in 1 1/2 years. The right hand cone disintegrated on me. I was careful to watch the adjusment on it and I squeezed an extra 4 months of use out of it before the hub became useless. I am a commuter and also cycle for fitness. | | Bottom Line: | As part of a Mavic XC717 wheel set, I am thoroughly disappointed at its lack of longevity. The part failure lead me to a new bike with press in bearings, doing the way with cones altogether. I am hoping that this will extend the life of my wheels. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
