Date Reviewed: September 25, 2009
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:chain reaction
Strengths:easy to install, great looking
Weaknesses:the rings suck and are going after 6 months (yes i know how to clean my chain and bike...my blackspire rings on my trail bike are like new). from what i've read, interchangeability with off the shelf parts is tough (bashguard, and chainrings). this is a big miss imo because i don't want to use shimano rings.
Similar Products Used:race face atlas fr
Bike Setup:turner highline
Bottom Line:great cranks, great price and easy to install (compared to the race face). i'm 150lbs so i never have issues with stiffness.

the only gripe i have is that the chainrings are already shark finned after 6 months! totally ridiculous to be going bad that quick considering the bike is used for freeride, minimal climbing, and in dry CA weather. oh well. i heard replacement rings may be an issue due to the cut/clearance of the new bashguard so i guess i'll find out if there are any issues when i get new rings. bashguard replacement may be an issue too due to this one being thicker.
