$65.00 | | Purchased At: | The Bike Works | | Strengths: | Very tight spring on the super short cage, keeps my chain and derailure on the bike. | | Weaknesses: | Its marketed for the road for the road. | | Similar Products Used: | xt, xtr, lx, etc., u name it, i've torn it off. | | Bike Setup: | Da Bomb Mind Bomb(yes a fat DH rig), jr. t's, dbl. tracks on da bomb head spins, Holtfullers with da bomb chain guide, Hope minis | | Bottom Line: | ***Derailure Only*** The 105 is the best derailure ive ever run. It was designed for road bikes, but performs flawlessly on rough screaming downhills.
From my experience, this derailure works so well due to the extremly short cage, and the very stiff spring. I've only run this on a single chainring + guide, so i dont no if the cage is to short to allow for dbl. rings. As for my setup though (38x34-11), it works flawlessly.
If you are running a single ring on your DH rig, do yourself a favour and go get one.
PS. Nobuddy on a knobby rig, has ever heard of shimano 105's and they'll think your some kind of connected dude with tech. gear. 105s are kool! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The chainset does look dog awful though. | Overall Rating: |
