The presta valve head gasket leaks air like crazy when pumping (to the point that it almost won't add air to a tire) and the pump handle snapped off the other day. To be fair, the pump has lasted a couple years, but I didn't buy it intending it to be a disposable product. In this case, not much. Ok, so it was only 20 bucks, but next time I'm going to get a good pump. This pump barely does the job--the capacity is so low that it takes great effort to get over 100 psi. At anything over 80, the head leaked, so I found a Specialized head for $10, which works better, but still not great. Bottom line: pay real money and get a real pump. I bought the Serfas Airbones pump about two years ago. It is a budget pump and I thought I would own it longer than I wanted to. I found out that it is very convenient and easy to use, and I never worried about a pump upgrade. Last month the fairly cheap hose finally broke and I was without a floor pump. I ride latex tubes so that was intolerable! I was surfing and typed in www.serfas.com, found an e-mail address and voila! They sent me 2 new hoses! This is the best service anyone could expect on a budget, hell... on any pump.The pump could be more durable, and let me down one pepper right before The Assault on Mt. Mitchell. I do recommend dealing with these folks, and they make a better pump as well. | Overall Rating: |
