$370.00 | | Purchased At: | Joe Haskins Bicycle Shop | | Strengths: | Light weight yet super strong. Accomodates my 5'11" 190lb. frame comfortably. Great looks. | | Weaknesses: | None that I can think of. | | Similar Products Used: | "80 Redline Proline, Rampar R-10 | | Bike Setup: | 7005 T-6 frame,Landing Gear forks, SE 180mm 3 piece cranks, SE PK bar, SE Go to Stem, SE seat, SE Race Rocker post, SE stretch grips, Tektro BX-25 rear brake, Wellgo alloy pedals, Kenda Krankit tires(2.1 fr./1.8 rear), KMC chain | | Bottom Line: | I am old skool to the core. Raced and jumped as a kid when the sport was still fairly new (early 80's). Spent my paper route money on a Redline & hooked it up. One day my bud Mike shows up on his new loop tail PK & I've wanted one ever since! Finally living the dream & have ridden it almost everyday since purchase. Quality of construction is outstanding, all components fit & work well. I was lucky to find a "04 PK but it's been at Joe's shop, untouched, for three years. Funny how 20+ years later it still is the standard all other BMX bikes are judged, it's a legend! I reccomend it to anyone considering anything else. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$400.00 | | Purchased At: | E-bay | | Strengths: | Very fast, great components.Good materials.Great looks.Very light.Cheaper than Team version and i dont see that there is a whole lot of difference between them. | | Weaknesses: | Needed to replace with larger headset washer as forks wobbled...not great from a brand new bike... se product control error there. Can feel a bit flexible in the bb area but once racing feels tight and strong.Needs top hat washers for Landing Gear as well.Nothying really a problem. | | Similar Products Used: | 1984 PK Ripper.1985 Raleigh Team Aero Pro Burner. | | Bike Setup: | Standard except for Profile Widowmaker sprocket.Rear brake only. | | Bottom Line: | People give this bike undeserved hostile reviews because it is no longer made by the original SE racing. This bike is a really great NS bike.It is SOOO fast and feels VERY strong in jumps and on the flat.I am SO HAPPY with this bike...it is easier to ride than the original as it is larger(I'm 6ft and have plenty of knee clearance.)Feels very strong and solid.Buy one. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from California Date Reviewed: February 11, 2005 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Overall bike is excellent. | | Weaknesses: | Have not discovered any yet. | | Similar Products Used: | Redline Proline/Redline Flight | | Bottom Line: | I owned a PK Ripper in 1983 and never had a problem with the bike. It rode as well as it did when I purchased it, even after four years. I recently purchased a 2004 model and can't believe how much it feels like my old bike. It's like I was riding back then all over again. Though the company has changed hands a few times since Scot started it, it's clear that the Ripper is the jewel and focal point of SE Racing still. I've test ridden Red Lines and a few others and feel that this bike still lives up to being ONE of the highest quality bikes. Though I'm a weekend kid along with my son, I plan on racing this bike at a few local tracks. That's how confident I feel about the quality.
This bike's price makes it affordable for the beginner and amateur, ane the quality makes it great for the experienced racer. STILL AN EXCELLENT BIKE. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

| Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$350.00 | | Purchased At: | Cycle Path | | Strengths: | The PK ripper was with out a doubt the best bmx racing bike ever built. I bought mine in 91 and was super stoked about it. The new model was much nicer the the early 80's model for many reasons. The early models welds around the seat post sucked and would always snap. And the fram had very thin welds threw out. The 90's version was double welded and they fixed the seat post problem by lowering the stem and making the aluminum twice as thick as the rest of the frame. The landing gear forks where super strong and looked amazing. Drop outs were very thick and welded tight. | | Weaknesses: | None | | Similar Products Used: | Redline, hutch | | Bike Setup: | Redline bars on a DK neck Dia-comp break levers and pitbul rear caliburs Red lIne flight crank with Bear traps SE racing seat post 48 spoke HD rims with GT tires. Frame was baby blue and everything else was white and black
| | Bottom Line: | Back in the day people would only dream about this bike. I was a freestyle ramp only guy as were some of my buddies and although the bike was a Super star in the eyes of bmx riders along with the hutch trick star we never really thought of using the bike for ramp.
The trick star was a wicked racing bike but that is as far as that bike went. THe Se racing OK ripper was without a doubt the king of bikes. With the strenth to be transformed into a freestyle machine or with a min amount of hardware on it The PK ripper was in my mind the greatest BMX bike ever made. And still is to this day.
As a note! Mine was stolen in 1992 in Toronto Ontario and I STILL WANT IT BACK. The S/N was PK0797 Doubt it will turn up but I will buy it back if I have to. Memories. sean@extremerigs.com | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
