Submitted by Sally Scale a Weekend Warrior from Mount Airy, GA, USA
    Date Reviewed: September 14, 2008
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $850.00
    Purchased At:Adventure Cycles
Strengths:What's your pleasure? Sharp looks, great performance, nice features...and for the money I don't think you'll find a nicer bike.

    I have owned many...Cannondale, Specialized...this time I gave Scott a try and I am glad I did.

Without getting into all the techy jaron...it feels good, rides good, it's stable and it's IMHO it looks great! Comes with mix of Shimano LX componentry...hydraulic brakes are new to me and a nice feature. Single finger operation, strong and reliable.

Be sure to purchase a framestay protector - JUMBO LARGE
Weaknesses:Throw the shock in the garbage! My Rock Shox Dart II went bad on me the second ride out...no lockout and no rebound adjustment. The thing leaked oil on my gargage floor after the rebound cap "popped" off. It's under warranty and they'll fix if for free but I say it's a TURD!

Disc breaks squeak...a lot. This is my first experience with disc...they work great but make noise.

Rear wheel skewer...no way to point it backwards...must point forward as a result of frame design. Makes for a nice hook to catch trees and roots.

I think the pedals are junk...but my wife loves them on her curb hopper.

I think the seat it too wide/bulky...but then again who sits anyway?
Similar Products Used:Cannondale F5, Killer V, Specialized Rock Hopper, Stump Jumper
Bike Setup:Stock setup, Shimano SPD clipless pedals.
Bottom Line:Not just a "great bike for the money" ... This IS A GREAT BIKE! You'll be pleased with the quality and performance.
