Strengths:
The scorpio AT 100 is a good all round bike for the price. For my first MTB I don't have much to compare too. I have although rode bike at the same price, and the scorpio had better brakes, front shocks, and gears.
Weaknesses:
A steel bike with front shocks can be very heavy. For an improvement on this you will have to up grade to a AT 200
Bottom Line:
Great for first time mountain bikers. You spend little on a good bike, giving you a chance to find you style(down hill, cross country,etc). Then up grade to a faster, lighter, more expensive MTB.
