Excellent Shimano components (XTR, XT), Manitou Super Mars shock w/damping and lockout. The XT shifters are so smooth. Made in the USA. | | Weaknesses: | Comes with no pedals. But then again, if it did, I'd probably have to pay more. The Fi:zi'k Dolomiti Ti seat is okay, but could be better. | | Bottom Line: | I love this bike. Quality, Value, and Weight were the main factors for buying this bike. No matter what price you pay for this bike, the bike has great components, and stands above the majority of mountain bikes on the market. Great color combo. 22lbs overall weight out of box. And did I say light? | | Weaknesses: | TITEC SUCKS!!!! Loosened twice on the first ride, but Titec is quick to send another seatpost clamp!! Tires are very light, but NO TRACTION. | | Similar Products Used: | Nothing this nice | | Bike Setup: | Threw on some weight with the Psylo SL and some REAL tires, the GEAX BLADES. Got a Thompson seatpost. Even with this stuff added bike only weighs 23.5 pounds | | Bottom Line: | I have searched High and low and when I saw that Schwinn was going out of business and noticed that these were priced at $1150 on supergo, I had to get one. Where can you get that drivetrain like this AND a bike for @$1000??? Plus frame only weighs 2.9 lbs. I will live with a crappy seatpost. Everything has to have one flaw. Bike climbs and climbs for days without any problems. Not only does it climb easily, but it comes down even easier with precise handling and b*tchin frame geometry (perfect). I purchased this bike because it was light, full xt, Manitou Mars Super with lockout and the price was 50 right (thanks Schwinn). The front fork is a work of art, super smooth and soaks up all the bumps and drops. Stock wheelset SUCKS. Tioga rims have black finish on the braking surface which eventually wore off and braking was highly inefficient. I had to squeeze the lever hard as possible just to get the bike to slow down. Freewheel hub was extremely smooth, but noisey as all hell. Michellin WildGrippers are total crap. I might as well be riding slicks downhill. Tires slipped constantly on corners and rocks - zero traction. Seatpost clamp broke after three months but Titec knows there was a problem with the design and are sending me a new clamp (cool people). Component selection is well balanced without any weak links. Great color...solid black. Stickers come off easy for those who prefer to BE fast rather than look fast. The anodized finish holds well. It's great to be back on a Schwinn. | | Weaknesses: | None so far.
