Submitted by Nick Wong a Weekend Warrior from San Francisco, California, USA
    Date Reviewed: November 25, 2003
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $150.00
    Purchased At:Target
    Strengths:Cheap price
Weaknesses:Cheap? I don't like the ugly welding on the frame, which is also heavy. There are shocks for the front, but it isn't designed for true rough roading. I also find it underdamped for more regular road surfaces.
Similar Products Used:Schwinn High Plains, cheap generic MTB and touring bikes
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:I got this for my wife, so she can go biking with me. There's nothing outstanding about this bike other than the cheap price, but then the quality and the components that you get are cheap to match... The bike is mainly for on road use and dirt/gravel trails. It's an entry-level bike for beginner riders.

The RST Shocks dont do much, mediocre components, chain slips,HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY

Bike Setup:Tektro Brakes, RST Forks,Shimano Acera Rear Derailer, Simano C201 front Derailer,Suntour Cranks, Shimano Shifters,Shimano SPD pedals(Bought Separately)
Bottom Line:This is the perfect bike for a kid who is considering mountain biking but doesnt know if they will like it.
Its an okay entry level bike, but if you get serious, get a specialized or a Trek. And a light one too.
