Date Reviewed: September 7, 2008
Favorite Trail:Lagarto, Mogi das Cruzes
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Price Paid: $1700.00
Purchased At:Summit Bike, at Whis
Strengths:Bottomless feeling, bombproof, awesome handling, corner like it's on rails, very progressive
Weaknesses:it's not mine
Similar Products Used:Kona Stab Deluxe, Kona Stinky, Specialized Big Hit 1 and 3, Specialized SX Trail, Jamis Diablo, Scott High Octane, Banshee Scream, Astro Terminal
Bike Setup:Marzocchi 888RV, Fox DHX 4.0, Formula Oro 24k brakes, Race Face diablous crankset and chainguide, Shimano Deore transmission, Mavic rims, RMB handlebar and hubs, Funn pedals and saddle
Bottom Line:This bike is just awesome. I had never ride something sweet and smooth like this bike. The suspension makes you feel like you're strapped at the trail, but at the same time you can easily pull the bike for a bunnyhop or a manual, for example. When it's time to turn, it corners like it's on rails (I can safely say that this bike turns better than my slalom hardtail!. The rear suspension, if it's well tuned, makes its job like no other, soft enough to keep your wheels at the trail and firm enough to not bottom out and not bob. If you have the money to buy one top bike, buy a Rocky Mountain. It's a great downhill bike, perfect for freeriders and you even can pedal this bike, due to the good linkage. Perfect

Favorite Trail:dog bone
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $2410.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Where do I start. The frame is so stiff and bombproof. I absolutely love the frame. SUPER Plush dhx 5.0 rear shock and it is very adjustable. Fairly decent components.
Weaknesses:no chainguide. non adjustable fork
Similar Products Used:V-10, banshee scream, demo 8
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:this is a great bike for how much money i paid. I would imediately upgrade to a chainguide if you dont pedal uphill. Rocky Mountain out did themselves making this frame. I love it. I recommend it to all who love riding freeride.
