Date Reviewed: August 6, 2004
Favorite Trail:Crabbe Mtn
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $450.00
Purchased At:Got it used
Strengths:Bomber frame, very responsive for such a heavily built bike, Very stable, Decent components for an entry level, very upgradable, fairly light for such a heavy looking bike. The tires are HUGE, and rock for bouncing over obstacles. The damn thing is just pretty looking, And it's Canadian. Awesome.
Weaknesses:Shock is too cushy, not adjustable enough. The Alivio components are a little dodgy (Front derailieur is a bit slow and Brake levers rattle too much) Maxxis Mofo tires tend to eat it in the sand. The side lugs also bend over on rocks. The tires could be a little less beefy. OH and BY GOD Replace the DAMN SEAT!!!!!
Similar Products Used:Norco Blast, Scrap, Clidesdales.
Bike Setup:Deore rear, Alivio Front, Alivio drive components, Rocky Mountain Mix components
Bottom Line:Sweet ride after a little tweaking. The frame just wont quit and the ride is like it is on rails. The seat just has to go and this bike could greatly benefit from a more appropriate shock (Marzocchi Marathon, Fox Vanilla, Manitou Black) and disc brakes (the frame is set up for these) Great bike though.

Date Reviewed: July 25, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1600.00
Purchased At:a store in Canada at Canadian $
Strengths:Everything works awsome.
Weaknesses:none at all ... except you have to where pads on ur legs because the pedals will tare the skin off them
Similar Products Used:jeep commanche
Bike Setup:stock except for a few pads on frame
Bottom Line:The bike works awsome dirt jumps, downhill trails, flatland riding, freeride, and some trials. The only thing I would change would be the fork. For me (190 lbs) the 4" bomber EXR isn't big enough because I have bottomed it out a couple of times. I've bailed off of it many time while in the air and I can get back on it and keep going without even putting a scratch on the frame. Awsome all-around bike but best for downhill trails and dirt jumps/freeride
