Is pretty lightweight also. | | Weaknesses: | Very few. This bike is 5 years old and still performs like new. | | Similar Products Used: | Iron Horse and Specialized hardtails | | Bike Setup: | Completely stock. Have only replace the wearable components: chain, cassette, brake pads and rotor. Love the XT component mix and hydraulic brakes. | | Bottom Line: | Ive ridden this bike for well over a year now. Has increased my abilities exponentially on technical sections and endurance on long-distance rides. All it needs is occasional maintenance and this bike will last forever. Poor choice of front fork for price (Rockshox Duke XC, for $1890 one would expect to get a fork with a little more adjustability). Poor frame clearcoat finish. The decals under the clearcoat have air bubbles underneath them. Tires are ill suited for Southern California riding. | | Similar Products Used: | Haro, Specialized, Balance | | Bike Setup: | Rockshox Duke XC, Fox Float R, Shimano LX and XT components, front & rear disc brakes, Race Face bars and stem, Mavic X223 rims, Hutchinson Python tires. | | Bottom Line: | This bike handles like a dream. It's stable on fast downhills, soaks up bumps big and small, climbs like a mountain goat, stops on a dime, and is as agile as Bruce Lee in a Kung Fu fight. All in all, it's a very confidence inspiring bike and a blast to ride. The frame (16.5)standover height was the lowest of all the bikes i researched and fits me good with my height @5'3". Most bike shops don't carry alot of small frame bikes especially the one you want but i got lucky @ downtown bikes in miami. I did alot of research and almost bought a Julianna Superlite and am glad i did'nt. For one thing you have wait about 8 weeks to get the bike and there are none in the bike shops to even test ride. I got better components, disc brakes and an awesome bike for the same price as a bottom line superlite. Rocky Mountain makes a great line of bikes and i couldnt be happier. On the trails this bike has fast acceleration,hangs corners on a dime and is the bike for cross country rides. Im not into big jumps just going fast, hanging the turns and alot of technical riding. I ride almost all of the trails @ Markham Park with no problem. If you like cross country type riding this is the bike, but i would'nt recommend it for alot of freeride or big hits. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

These guys have the best bike shop in the metro area. The best customer service and extremely knowledgeable. After weeks of doing intense research I thought I had decided on the stumpjumper. I called up the guys at Single Track to find out if they carried any. Adam asked what kind of riding I do. After telling him that I mainly ride cross-country with drops no bigger than 2-3 feet he recommended that I come in and test ride a Rocky Mountain Fantik. I rode the Fantik and than I asked to ride the Element. What a plush ride! It was a little heavier than the Koko but lighter than the Stumpjumper, but it was the way it rode that sold me. For my riding style it was the best bike I test road. I took it to a couple of local trails in the Metro area and gave it a real test ride. It sucked up all the small hits without any bob. The only time I felt any bob was when I was hammering it out of the saddle, and this was very minor. It is also a great climber. The only real grip I have is that I wish it came with all XT components. Only 4 chilis because I've only owned it for two weeks. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |
