Favorite Trail:mine
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Fresh Air
Strengths:fork, frame, tires, almost everything
Weaknesses:seat, decals.
Similar Products Used:yukon
Bike Setup:new seat
Bottom Line:I bought this bike used in 2005, and found it to be a great bike. I am a heavy rider (190) and am really hard on my bikes, and it has been really tough and strong with nothing breaking, and just the usual parts to replace b/c of wear. The seat is hard, and the decals are brutal, but other then that i love the bike.

Favorite Trail:oil can
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $1000.00
Purchased At:rocky mountain bicycles factory
Strengths:extreemely agile in urban assult styles, easy to controll, handle and rely on. perfect for street and moderate downhill
Weaknesses:Chains too weak. I found the back rim a little too unreliable for cement riding. Cranks loostened easily.
Similar Products Used:slayer, switch, kona stinky, rm6
Bottom Line:This is a perfect bike for Urban assult. works sweet for stairs, hopping around and showing off. This bike can handle a fair amount of downhill. As long as you ride with care and dont beat on the bike. my advice to you is to purchase a stronger back rim, and a stronger chain.

This is the best bike I have ever ridden. Rockys are the bikes to go with if you have the money to buy them.

Favorite Trail:tilden park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1140.00
Purchased At:Mike's Bikes
Strengths:the never ending travel on the bomber! it really flies off anything. rims don't buckle under my weight (160 lbs).. never used disc brakes b4... these are sweet!
Weaknesses:saddle hurts a bit, could use some more room in the cockpit, but this may be because i came from a xc bike and am not used to the shroter toptube(freeride bikes = shorter toptube?). bent the 2nd ring already, but shop fixed it.
Similar Products Used:'97 gt karakoram
test rode specialized enduro, rmb edge, slayer, cannondale jekyll
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:rode around on the gt on the local trails in the hills, but wanted a stronger bike that could hold up to some abuse. the rmb edge was too expensive, and the enduro felt too spongy. i like how i can just fly off stairs and ledges and the rims are still intact (sun rhyno lite), plus this bike can climb just fine, so i can take this bike and ride around where i used to. The rmb edge and slayer were sweeter bikes definitely, but they were at least 800 bucks more and i am on budget (being a poor college student).

i am definitely happy i bought this bike.

Favorite Trail:J Branch
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1150.00
Purchased At:Richardson Bike Mart
Strengths:I really like the Z1 Wedge. I am a heavy guy(240lbs) and I have trouble with cheaper 80mm travel forks. I can't seem to bottom this one out. :)
Weaknesses:The seat sucks. The only good thing about it is you never sit down to pedal. :)
Similar Products Used:Giant XC Hardtail
Bike Setup:XTR Front and Rear derailleurs, XTR Shifters, XT, Brake Levers, Carbon 1.75" riser bar, Azonic Love Seat.
Bottom Line:I am really happy with this purchase. I am just getting into MTBs, and I bought a cheaper Giant first. I broke it in less than a month. I am beating the crap out of this thing all the time and it just keeps asking for more. I don't do drops, but I do do some smallish DJ and DH. I want to try some dual slalom and I know this bike won't let me down. Well worth the money. RMB has built a great bike.

Strengths:The frame is great for dirtjumping and dual. The geometry is about perfect for me. I think that having a rear 24 inch wheel makes this bike much better. This frame is rock solid.
Weaknesses:The decals came off the first day I got the bike.
Similar Products Used:Kona stuf
Bike Setup:Bomber DJ 1, 24/26 inch sun doublewides, Evil chainguide, prodigy cranks...

Strengths:TOUGH, nice design, Z1 fork rides smooth and handles efficiently over both downhill and climbs, Mechanical disks are much smoother than hydraulic and require less maintenance.
Weaknesses:Needs a better motor - but that's my own problem.
Similar Products Used:Fisher, Trek, Iron Horse, Seven

Favorite Trail:Green ribbon
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1335.00
Purchased At:Riders Cycle
Strengths:The bike is light, very beefy front end, and Z1 wedge is a good feeling fork once it is equipped with xheavy springs.
Weaknesses:The backend looks a little thin, only time will tell as I weigh 240. Although no problems yet. The Raceface cranks that it came with are crap, I have already bent them but what else is new when race face is involved.
Similar Products Used:kona (Chute, roast), norco 250 cc
Bike Setup:Stock set up didn't change a thing other than Xheavy springs in the fork.
Bottom Line:Since I got this bike 2 weeks ago I have ridden it almost every day. I have taken to the BMX track, trails, dirt jumps and the local grocery store. I must say that this bike handles awsome, Rocky has a real winner here. In the air it is stable and nimble, on the single track it is agile and hostile, and no one stole it when I locked it up outside the pub. What else can I say the bike has met all my expectations for a hard tail. The mechanical disk are much better than I thought, they almost feel better than the hayes hydro's on my RM7.

My only concern with the bike lies in the rear triangle, it is a little thin and looks like the it will snap on the first casing of a jump or an abrupt flat landing off a drop( although I don't plan on doing either of those actions.

Strengths:The Z-1 Wedge fork is great, I like the five inches of travel. The large downhill tires absorbes alot of small bumbs and soften the laden of dropping of ledges.Alot of good parts for the money. The best hardtail ever rode.
Weaknesses:The deore mechanical brakes are a little weak.
Similar Products Used:Giant ATX 860, Jamis Dakar comp, Bianchi wannabee.
Bike Setup:Origianal but with shimano 646 clippless platform pedals. Thinking about upgrading to hydraulic disc though.
