Favorite Trail:bromont
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:bought used
Strengths:plush travel, nice main frame, comparatively light.
Weaknesses:-wimpy pivot develops slop quickly
-squeaky
Similar Products Used:Devinci magma,Giant Ac2
Bike Setup:super t, dh tires
Bottom Line:The front triangle is strong and stiff. The urt is strong and stiff. Unfortunatly the pivot that joins the front triangle is weak and flexy. The design of the pivot is very foolish, and even brand new bushings don't fit tightly. Amazingly, despite the flexy feel of the rear end, the bike rides really well in all situations. I recomend the bike mainly for light riders as an all around bike capable of some freeride and dh.

Favorite Trail:Plank and New
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $2400.00
Purchased At:Bellvue bicycle
Strengths:This is the perfect all around bicycle. The adjustable suspension is sweet Also the URT rear is a brilliantly simple design! it just works on this bike!!!!!!!
Weaknesses:being a fat boy I have to run a super high spring rate Which kind of takes away some of it's plushness but not to bad!
Similar Products Used:bullet RM7 stinky
Bike Setup:pretty much stock except for pedals(DK iron cross),thomson seat post, titec berzerker seat easton bars and intense lock on grips
Bottom Line:Awesome bike! When getting ready to buy a bike last year I called rocky mountain to ask a few questions about the bike they were really helpful also the Canadian consruction of this bike is awesome like artwork!

Date Reviewed: July 13, 2002
Favorite Trail:doesn't matter
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $1800.00
Purchased At:Internet
Strengths:Most important: climbs very well and hauls on the downhill. Feels very sturdy and likes to be punished.
Weaknesses:A bit heavy for longer rides with lots of climbing. Creeks a bit. Is the trave really 4 and 6.
Similar Products Used:Stinky, AC1, slayer, G-spot
Bike Setup:XTR shifters and deraileurs, Race Face North Shore Cranks, Shiver Fork, Shimano discs, etc etc
Bottom Line:I take this thing on punishing 40 mile rides with lots of climbing. Although it is heavy and slow it climbs very well for a bike that can bomb. It is also a good technical ascender and doesn't bob too much in the 4 inch setting. In the (supposed) 6 inch setting it is as good as any other comparable freeride bike on the downhill. I am very happy with this bike.

Submitted by Joe Fruechtel a Downhiller from Portland, Oregon, USA
Date Reviewed: May 26, 2002
Favorite Trail:washington park
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $2400.00
Purchased At:Fat Tire Farm
Strengths:Nice frame, Bomber works well, good price, nice wheels,
Weaknesses:Race Face Prodigy DH cranks, Shimano brakes have almost no modulation, blew out the fox in the first month
Similar Products Used:Bullit, Stinky dee-lux, giant ac1
Bike Setup:Bash gaurd, heavier spring, Hayes Purple 8"
Bottom Line:The bike has been great except for the race face products. The inside of my cranks have rounded off twice and the seatpost bent in the first week. The Hayes are night and day compared to the shimano! The bike is great for freeriding. It can handle the big stuff and is plush on the smaller drops/bumps.

Date Reviewed: April 28, 2002
Favorite Trail:Sea Otter Classic Downhill
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $3200.00
Purchased At:Mikes Bikes Berkely
Strengths:The frame is awsome. 4 to 6 inches of travel is awsome. I change it all the time with 4 for jumping, 6 for downhill, and 5 for street. I upgraded the fork to a JRT since i wanted a little for travel for downhill. The bike rides so smooth, and has a lot of agility. This is a sick bike and is part of a great company.
Weaknesses:The parts it comes with are not the greatest. I bent the cranks after my first ride. I am now getting northshores. Also, the rims are pretty weak and tires. Those will need upgrading. All the other parts are awsome and the Hayes Discs are great.
Similar Products Used:BULLIT, if you are looking at getting the pipeling, also look at the bullet. They are both very similar bikes. Both have there ups and downs.
Bike Setup:I already said this.
Bottom Line:This is a great bike and i recommend it to everyone.

Submitted by JESS SANTOS a Weekend Warrior from SANTA RITA, GUAM
Date Reviewed: March 18, 2002
Favorite Trail:any where not private property
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $2400.00
Purchased At:velocity sport
Strengths:with upgrades the bike becomes a freaky free ride dream. The frame is the key to any type of components you put on the bike, which really is the strength.
Weaknesses:SQUEAAAAAAKY.......Sounds like my bed springs on a sunday morning drive. Other then that you may have to earn this beating. It begs to be pounded.
Similar Products Used:2001 RM PIPELINE.......BAD A**.......
Bike Setup:2001 JR-T/AZONIC DOUBLE WALL BARS/HEADLOCK/AZONIC SHORTY DELUXE/SELLE SADDLE/PANARACER FIRE DH TIRES/YETI-ODI GRIP .
Bottom Line:WORKS FOR ME. HOWEVER IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A LITTLE MORE FREE RIDE ACTION IN ONE OF THE MAGS. LET US KNOW WHAT YOUR TAKE IS ON THE PRO CIRCUIT....OR IS IT ALL JUST HYPE OR HO HUM....
