Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Very Stiff
Well built
Excellent low speed responce.
Makes good use of it's limited travel
Weaknesses:Stock oil too light
Similar Products Used:judy 100
Bottom Line:An excellent value. These forks work great for everything except big dirt jumping and downhilling. I have had no problems other than some oil loss when my bike was hanging upside down in the garage. It wasn't enough to affect the performance though. Switch the stock oil to at least 10w before steeing up the spring rate. This will give a good combination of low speed responce and still allow for 4 or 5 foot drops. Anything more than that and you will need more travel.

Favorite Trail:keystone downhill
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:used from a friend
Strengths:cool look, versatile, adjustable, good cushioning for little bumps and some drops, strong.
Weaknesses:not very much travel, I've seen single crowns with that much. possibility of bottoming out.
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:full suspension Mountain Cycle, hayes disc brakes, platform pedals, azonic headset, yeti grips, all downhill stuff
Bottom Line:I weigh about 100 pounds (no, I'm not an adult,) and I can go big on this fork. Even if you weigh more than this you can definitly ride downhill, but not super aggressively. I use this bike for dirt jumping and other jumps too. I have flatted this out several times because of it's short travel if I clear a short landing from a big air or do a drop to flat (at least a medium height drop.) If you want a fork that isn't a super ton of money but you still want to hit fairly big things get this fork. Don't buy this fork with the intention of doing giant drops.

Strengths:-not too heavy
-yellow

-very few parts
-pretty durn stiff
-takes big hits decently
-disc mounts
-tunable
Weaknesses:-stock oil too light
Similar Products Used:IndyXC (not at all similar)
Bike Setup:San Andreas DHS, 10 wt oil, Maxxis Mobster (just barely fits)
Bottom Line:Bottom line, I'm impressed with how much these forks have put up with. They'll probably never cause much envy at the DH mtns, but they took me to a few podiums at Plattekill, one of the roughest DH's there is. A friend with a Boxxer was impressed at the stiffness as well, so that's saying something. Stock oil is way too light for repeated small hits and rock gardens. Switched to 10 wt and was a lot better, will be switching to 15 soon. Takes big hits pretty well, just doesn't like fast fast rough sections. Hang on tight then. I must say though, I've never been very disappointed with these forks in the 2 years I've abused them. Buy a pair if you can get em. When I get my Boxxer, they'll make a great match for a hardtail.

Strengths:This fork is so rigid, for us latin lover types that is muy importante. It is also lithe and supple over the bumps like a fine senorita who only eats a little beans, 'cause too many beans makes for lots of air biscuits.
Weaknesses:What are you kidding, these forks are the apex, the perfection of the art of longtravel forx. The manufacturers might as well stop development and just produce these from now until eternity.... or at least until the chickens come home.

Bottom Line:To conclude on a light note, these are really great forks if you don't mind a little extra weight for a rigid and forgiving very capable set of forx.As for the value rating, what the hell do you want, him to give you the da mn ed things?

Bottom Line:This fork is still working out great for me. I changed the stock oil out with Bel-Ray 20 wt. fork oil for summer and am pleased with the performance. The hydracoil design is such a huge leap from the old style Judy cartridge that everyone should own the new type. What makes me mad is that Rockshox doesn't offer some kind of retrofit kit for the older forks. The lower sliders are the same as the older design and I believe (but am not 100% sure) that the upper tubes are the same as well. The reason I don't know is that in the 6 months I've owned this fork I've had no reason to disassembly and clean it.

Sure, there a little springy on the show room floor, but on the trail they are prefect. You will need a firmer ride kit than stock if you want to ride this fork though. Strengths:What strengths?
Weaknesses:You name it. I,ve had this fork for a month or so. 1st it's set up for someone who weighs a 150lbs most of us don't. 2nd it is as flexy as TI spoke. 3rd the brake arch craked after a few weeks of easy jumping.

I'll just have to wieght and see if there warranty is as good as they say so I can get a new fork and sell it to some Xc roadie type that won't push the fork too hard. If you want a dual crown for slalom or jumping avoid this one, Do yourself a favor go buy a bomber I know I will. This fork don't deserve any chili but I have too give it 1 because thats as low as you can vote.. Weaknesses:Stock set up needs fetttling.
Similar Products Used:Boxxers, marzocchi Z1's, judy xc's
Bike Setup:XLC's on K2 Animal frame.
Bottom Line:I bought these to go on my Animal for general trail riding which was lying around after i bought a proper DH frame (see review of Rotwild RDH 03 on Framesets page). The forks are very plush immediately but from stock aftermarket they are very very soft. This is really smooth on small stuff. They havent bottomed out much but the speed with which they use the travel is a bit much as it drops the front a lot on steep slow sections. Also echo the other guys review about needing more oil in from stock as well. Have tried a pair on a Kona Chute and they have either the correct amount of oil or harder springs. Unless you are very light, make sure the forks you buy have harder springs than the yellow that came in mine. Once you have sorted this out, they work like a dream. Easy to service and tune oil for damping. Turning circle has never been a problem. They are nice and cheap. They are not intended for hardcore downhill racing so please dont expect this from them. With that in mind, they are great for all day trail riding and extreme terrian. Just set them up properly.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Super smooth and plush, simple in design, pretty light, awesome price, easy to maintain and service, great performance and simple to adjust. A lot more adjustment than the old cartridge system.
Weaknesses:None for the purpose it serves. I think some of the negative reviews come from people thinking that this is a downhill only type fork. For that application you should buy a Boxxer.
Similar Products Used:Various Indy's, Judy XL, '99 Judy XC, and some red Manitou on my buddy's bike
Bike Setup:'98 FSR Extreme, 626 pedels, heavier springs front & rear
Bottom Line:This fork is awesome. Way better than the Judy XL with the cartridge system. I blew out three cartridges in one year with that fork and don't miss it at all. The XLC offers more performance and tuning possibilities then the old model ever had. I couldn't believe how plush the fork was when I first got it. I installed firm springs and need to play with the oil level and weight but am very pleased with the performance so far. For $179 from mail order you just can't beat the value. I feel this is the best triple clamp fork avaliable for the price. I should know, I've been waiting for over a year to purchase it once the price came down.

Crap turning circle
Bad for tricks
Similar Products Used:Indy XCs
Bike Setup:Stock Kona Chute with Kujo DH tyres, Planet X stem, DCD
Bottom Line:These forks are very nice, but I had to set them up myself - the forks only came with about 180ml of oil in instead of the full 220. After that, the rebound was fine. You can't get a full 90 degree X-up 'cos they're triples, and the max tyre width you can (safely) run is about 2.35", otherwise the tyre will rub the fork crown under full compression. Oh well, if u don't mind that then these forks are wicked.

Bottom Line:My bike came with a JUDY SL, I broke it twice. So RockShox sent me the JUDY XLC. I think it is far supioror to the SL. It is very horizontaly stiff and has very smooth copression and rebound. Flying off of big BMX jump, doing sick drops, and clearing crazy gaps hasn't hurt this fork yet. It is the only one in the Rock Shox line that has held up one me.
