from SPAIN Date Reviewed: February 16, 2002 | | Favorite Trail: | anyone techical | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Purchased At: | came on stock bike | | Strengths: | very low maintenance. affordable. simple tunning | | Weaknesses: | BUSHINGS!!!! stiffness!!!
| | Similar Products Used: | manitou sx 99 bombers, rock shox, RST....... | | Bike Setup: | full suspension frame, sram7.0, front hidraulic disc brake...
| | Bottom Line: | It works very very well, BUT!! bushings are very BAD !!! and their replacement is quite expensive,(about 71 usa dollars). If you are an agressive biker, you should change bushings each year.... very low maintenance makes it a very interesting fork usable on XC and very very lite freeriding. It isn't very stiff so driving is not precissely, but, i repeat: It works GOOD! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from South Africa Date Reviewed: August 26, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Enough travel for xc riding. Plush. Soaks up small and large bumps easily. Strong enough. Coil and oil is great. | | Weaknesses: | None so far. | | Similar Products Used: | Tested a straight Jett 2000 ; Manitou Magnum 2000 ; Jett xc | | Bike Setup: | 2000 Schwinn Moab 2. In South Africa comes with Jett sl fork, Shimano Deore fd and crankset, Deore lx rd; Deore casette, Deore brake levers and brakes; Weinmann Zac 19 rims and 15g ss spokes; rapid fire shifters; IRC Mythos 1.95 xc tyres | | Bottom Line: | Only bottomed this fork once on a badly shaped (squarish) rock at about 45 kph. Good fork for xc riding with enough smooth travel over stutter bumps and biggish bumps to please anyone. Preload adjutments work well. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

TINY bit more travel than a rigid> | | Weaknesses: | Everything; not that much better than a rigid fork. NUTHIN compared to my new Zoke Z5 Coil 130 mm | | Similar Products Used: | Zoke Z5 Coil 130 mm | | Bike Setup: | Specialized Team Clipless, Zoke Z5, full Deore, Haro Escape 7.1(not too bad!), Azonic Shorty stem | | Bottom Line: | Okay i guess, but nuthin compared to my new Zoke. It cost about $80 at price point, and i got my Zoke for $175. REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE!! Go ZOKES!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$119.00 | | Purchased At: | Pricepoint.com | | Strengths: | Good performance for the money Good entry-level fork Low-maintenence Hydracoil= "coil-&-oil", that is. | | Weaknesses: | Only Preload is adjustable- but what do you want for $119? | | Similar Products Used: | Jett XC (Elastomers) | | Bike Setup: | Specialized Hardtail, endlessly upgrading... | | Bottom Line: | This is the bottom-of-the-line Hydracoil fork from Rock Shox. It's pretty much a no-frills version of their Judy fork- except you can't adjust compression or rebound, only preload. I can only compare them to the Jett XC, which is NOT Hydracoil- it's elastomer-sprung, and not NEAR the fork the SL is. The SL is plush & soaks up the small bumps pretty well, and soaks up the bigger hits fine. If you're looking for a good, solid, entry-level fork to beat up, the Jett SL is an excellent place to start. It'll do me fine until I get a Marzocchi Z1 on my next bike... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Queens, New York, USA Date Reviewed: February 21, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Nice, plush ride for the average rider | | Weaknesses: | Can't find any so far | | Similar Products Used: | None - this is my first suspension fork | | Bike Setup: | 2000 Fisher Aquila (in XXX Orange - yum!), stock w/Jett SL fork, Deore/LX mix, Bontrager Corvair rims. Upgraded to Nashbar clipless. | | Bottom Line: | Good fork for the beginner/intermediate rider. Original equipment only. I ride light/moderate XC trails. Nothing too crazy, just small drop-offs, jumps, and rocks that you find in this part of the country. The fork is adequate for me - I'm 175 lbs and I haven't been able to bottom out the fork yet. Some will say that this just means I don't ride hard enough... Well, that might be true, but I'm satisfied with the performance of the fork and would recommend it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
