    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $200.00
    Purchased At:EBAY
    Strengths:Travel, Durability and Strength
Weaknesses:ROCK SHOX does not make the thru axle for the DHO anymore. You will have to bore out the threads and use the BOXXER axle in place.
    Similar Products Used:SHIVER, JR.T
Bike Setup:GIANT DS3 Frame, Shimano Dic brakes, KOOKA DH Cranks w/ bash ring, tenacious d Xtra wide hBars.
Bottom Line:Excellent and I mean it for DH racing. It may not have the travel as its brother the BOXXER but its performance makes up for it. Extremely strong and will take a beating on any drop. I highly recommend this product and it is a sleeper hit to products I have looked over in the past. A++++++++++++

    Favorite Trail:going down
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $175.00
    Purchased At:private
Strengths:low cost, stiffness, quite serviceable, comp.damping resists bottoming. 20mm axle is stiffer
Weaknesses:tire clearance is limited, and 4" travel is xc/freeride., not convertible to any more travel. out of production
    Similar Products Used:Z1
Bike Setup:rip-off bullit design, dually. built heavy/strong for freeride/dh use
Bottom Line:if you find one and it appears to be in decent shape (check inner tubes for scoring and wear and bushing play), and comes with extra elastomers and spring tuning bits and you can deal with 4 inches of travel and you don't need more than a 2.35" tire they are a very nice fork. take the time to clean, lube and set them up to your weight and riding style. Enjoy!!

Submitted by Urban Dynamo a Downhiller from Layton UT 84041
    Date Reviewed: July 26, 2000
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Strengths:+20mm thru axle
    +strong-reduced flex
    Weaknesses:-Price ($1200)
    -Travel
    -No Hydracoil
    Similar Products Used:RST HI-5 TL
    RST Alfalfa XL
    RST DELTA XL
    RST DELTA HL
    Marzocchi MR. T
Bottom Line:This fork to me is okay, but I will never ever buy such a fork brand new for $1200. But Rock Shox doesn't make that fork anymore so everyone's selling the DHO for around $200-$300. First off I like the stiffness in the lower sliders, thanks to that 20 mm thru-axle. The lower sliders have a bolt on brake arch design, which means individual parts are replaceable, if available. The 4-inch travel stroke is not pretty downhill wise, nor is the non hydraulic dampaning. If it were up to me I would name this fork the FRO(free ride.) My advice to people is that this fork is a better free rider than a downhiller, and this fork should only be used for free riding purposes only.

    The Bottom Line------------------------------>

:) Ideal buyer- Freeride/urban assualt bikers who are on the market for the perfect fork without breaking the bank. This fork would also do good with Novice downhillers too.

:( Non Ideal buyer- Extreme Downhill bikers who should be looking at forks over $1000.

    Strengths:
It looks cool, and you get the Boxxer hub.
    Weaknesses:
It is basically to stiff and adds a bit of kangaroo feeling to you bike.. And you can´t tune it enought eather.
    Similar Products Used:
    Boxxer, Mr T.

The through axel, if you arent a stiffness freak and like the ease of quick release. They do have a model without the through axel also though.
